His confidence will be knocked more from being motm and then dropped

Has to play v west ham. It's not as if brad will be out picking balls off of carrolls head on Sunday is it?!

HRH are you even talking about the same player as the rest of us? You think the guy hasn't been roughed up when playing in the CL? Ligue 1? International football including major championships?

He is established top 5 keeper in the world not a damn rookie

HHR, avb would of lost his mind if he drops Lloris now. He has gained confidence with that performance last night and now should be our established number 1. Swapping keepers each time does nothing positive and just disrupts an already fragile defence. Friedel starts sunday and i will be fuming.

By trying to over prtect him we are actually going to make things worse. Keepers are like forwards, they have to play all the time to remain confident.

Full back killer. Exactly......HRH, you are talking about Lloris like he is a youth product coming through the academy. Lloris has just as much huge game experience than Friedel if you count all the champions league and international games Lloris has played in.

Morning Don

People see players like De gea struggling, but they don't realise he is a teenager, Lloris is 25! De Gea is not a regular international keeper, Lloris is, if peeps are going to compare players, then it needs to be like for like.

Morning mate, yes i said the same thing yesterday. De gea is a different situation as he is literally a rookie so fergie swapping him every now and then makes sense.....us swapping a world class keeper in Lloris for Friedel every few games is pretty poor management and needs to be stopped.

Just an opinion - not that I think Brad will be flattening Carroll or anything but I don't want Lloris to make a wally of himself just as he has his best game.

Gomes wasn't a rookie either but he got roughed up and targeted. Meh, no point discussing it we'll see Sunday, I'll be chuffed to say I was wrong

posted on 23/11/12

I believe Gomes's downfall was his loss of concentration more then being roughed up. He has poor concentration.

He wasn't used to getting less protection from refs either - I know you don't accept this but it's true of the English game.

I think if he plays, Big Sam will be all over him like Rik Waller at the Mr Kipling factory

posted on 23/11/12

Let it be then, lots of teams will do this in the prem, if he can't cope with it then he shouldn't be the french number 1 and all the so called experts that rate him as one of the best no nothing at all.

HRH even if that is west hams plan, i would still rather have lloris, he will come out for corners and crosses unlike the big strong tall brad who ignores his attributes and stays on his line, much more likely to conceed by staying on his line then if we have someone who will come and catch/punch it

comment by HRH (U15236)

posted on 23/11/12

It all depends doesn't it? If he comes out to punch and makes a hash of it the goal is exposed - if the keeper stays on his line and the forward beats the defender he still has the keeper to beat. Swings and roundabouts. I'm all for a keeper coming out to claim stuff but I'm scarred by Gomes I suppose and a liitle wary considering how small Lloris looks

posted on 23/11/12

A static keeper can only react so much, a keeper moving and staying on his toes has much more chance of success. Plus i would rather Lloris's reactions then Friedals. The fact that the only team who want Friedal are blackburn tells you he is on the decline mate.

No, he's 41 and isn't long-term for anyone. If he was 25 there'd be a big demand for him I reckon.

I'm not saying he's long-term for us, but he's here right now

Like I said though, if he plays and does well v West Ham I'll happily admit I was wrong. If he has a mare will you?

posted on 23/11/12

Friedal in his whole career and it's been a longone has never been rated as highly as Lloris is already at only 25. Says it all.

That shows how underrated Friedel has been then. He's a very good keeper and has proved it at Spurs.

Alright mate, don't take it personally. I think Lloris should be our #1, but still think while we have Friedel here we can use him for some games

Not many clubs in for Lloris though was there

If he plays v West Ham, depending on performance, one lot will be here admitting we were wrong - deal?

posted on 23/11/12

Mate, Barca, Real, Man utd etc have all scouted Lloris in the past, even wenger, so i think you might find you are wrong there.

posted on 23/11/12

HRH i will definately admit it if he plays badly against West ham

What i want to know is, how is he meant as you seem to think, get used to playing in the 'rough' premier league if every chance he gets he is 'protected'?

Easy - some teams are rougher than others. Big Sam always targets weaker players with his stronger lads. Stoke are very physical. Chelsea/Arsenal of old.

Liverpool on the other hand wouldn't be nearly as big a physical test. Ditto Arsenal and Chelsea now.
