Our fans got attacked a few years back in napoli, they just want to fight

This is a serious issue, and I hope this debate remains respectful.

I can't help feeling the recent case by Herbert and the SBL has drawn a lot of unwelcome attention to our club.

What I find really bizarre is how the press there are justifying it as a racist attack. They seem to think it's acceptable to have armed gangs roaming the streets because we embrace our history as a Jewish club.

I don't believe for one second that this was anything other than the ultras, it's old school hooliganism dressed up as some kind of racially motivated crime. The fact that they are a known far right group and have displayed swatstikas on their terraces seems to have been forgotten. They're trying to protect their club at the cost of society, and I can't help but think UEFA will do exactly the same.

All thanks to a man who thought he'd make a name for himself by removing racism from football.

I kind of agree. But I don't think the apparent anti-semitic references during the attack are coincidental. Then again, thuggery is thuggery and you are correct to suggest this would of happened even without the 'racism dimension' the Italian press is now discussing. At least I think that is what you imply.

The ultras are far-right racists, we know this. Given all the recent negative press it's hardly surprising that's what they were shouting when they ambushed fans drinking in a pub.

As a Chelsea fan,I wish the Spurs fan who suffered the stab wound to his neck a speedy recovery,and thoughts go out to the family of this man,and the other fans,ambushed by cowards in masks,tooled up and looking for a small group to assault...........when larger groups nearby,would have been a "challenge".

Thugs and bullies,not even prepared to fight like men.

I have never heard of hoolies wearing crash helmets before..........Poles in Belfast stuck in gum shields before they charged into a Belfast bar,only to be ejected,but helmets is Greek rioter material.The Poles did give a few locals a slap that day,to be fair.Big buggers,too.

In Spain with NI fans a few years ago,a mob dressed in all black stood over the road from us ,glaring as they do,then charged at us later,from a side alley.NI fans are easy going,but the Spanish mob got a shock when their attack was repelled in kind,by guys used to rioting with the best in the world.
Funny as,and the local police just took them away,as they saw what happened.

if your in a fight for your life and cant get away you need to do whatever to survive.. the poor guy who got stabbed ran away and got caught in a alleyway ... must of been very scary for everyone involved

i got ram raided 3 times in a yr at a golf club in the middle of no where and they got a set of dumbbells through their windscreen

old bill took 30 mimutes to arrive though and they got away with 40k worth of golf clubs ..

It sounds like a pretty well planned attack but its also pretty cowardly.

I wonder if their "ultra's" would go for a 100 Spurs fans against a 100 of them without them having the advantage of weapons. Somehow I doubt it.

Not condoning or promoting trouble,but the Poles and Germans,for example,go toe to toe,even numbers,no weapons,and last man standing wins.They even have guys acting as ref,and it takes place away from the public,where no innocent bystander can be hurt or traumaticised.
I hate mobs attacking small groups,or individuals,tooled up,and with no chance of a fair fight.

Some people are sick and cowardly.
