Full time report.
After Brighton took the lead against the run of play, Bolton's dominance just would not bring an equaliser in the first half.
Despite putting the Brighton goal under almost constant pressure, the ball just wouldn't go in.
However, justice was done when David N'gog fired home with plenty of time remaining.
Bolton pressed for a winner, but the referee cut the game short with Bolton well on top.
Very encouraging for Dougie Freedman and the boys.
Roll on Wednesday, watch out Blackburn!
Yes I was thinking the loss against Boro was under Freedman. Of course it under Jimmy. My apologies.
nuns, I have a couple of bottles of Disaronno and some lemonade, I might try some later.

Holden's full time report,
Just been on a Brighton forum and read some of the comments posted right after the equaliser.
"I feel sick" etc
Bloody hell, we drew?
Bloody hell, Noggie scored?
Bloody hell.
I.m.o--garside has to take a lot of the responsability with the squad we have at bolton at this time,a lot of coyles/garside signings are nowere near good enough ,although i still think D.F. will be a good manager here,, there was again no need to rush out and get a new manager in with jimmy & sammy already installed knowing the players well that we have .which D.F. Has know to get to know all the players and that takes time, and he has to do this before jan in order to change things. i just hope eddie davies gives DF the funds to change things out of garsides salary as i dont think we need him.
I don't understand how knowing players makes you a better candidacy for manager, golden. You could argue that OC knew the players better than anybody in the world - Historically, players only do well for caretaker managers for a short period of time, so their stock is high for when a new manager comes in. Leaving JP in charge would have been a stupid move.
BBS, in your opinion.
Nobody knows what would have transpired if Jimmy and the team had stayed in charge of the team.
I was rather hoping that they would have been given a few more weeks to prove what they could do.
However, I do hope that Dougie gets it right but I do fear that we won't get promoted this season. A convincing win against Blackburn on Wednesday might change my mind.
We are currently 18th which is our lowest position for nigh on 20 years... DF needs to make his mind up about which players he uses, As far as I can see promotion this season is a pipe dream.
I think you need to be more patient, lumpitup. Seriously. Were you expecting a miracle or something? He has made us difficult to beat already, and it's the first time since 2008 we've been unbeaten for 5 games. Please give the guy a chance to make his mark on the club, there is going to be a period of trial and error while he finds the right mix.
Hello everyone.
You've just got to love Fergie Time!!

You mean Dougie time surely CEF?
LH
Dont think many people are that angry with DF,just frustrated with the dross at his disposal. The squad is now filled with talentless players even at this level, and that frustrates me and many others.
Mego n Coyle brought in these players,I cant think of one player at the moment a PL club would be mildly interested can you?.
I had this awful gut feeling what this season would bring as we discussed pre season in the pub pal.Even by some mad scenario we did sneak up through the play offs expect more misery,as I said last season relegation will take this club back ten years.
One last point as Spearing deflowered a chicken or something not to get into this team?.
deflowered a chicken.
To be serious, poor chicken.
Evening nuns, I was responding more directly to lumpitup's post where he said that DF needs to make his mind up about who to pick.
I can name one player a PL club would be mildly interested in, Mark Davies, who Swansea City bid 5M for 3 months ago.
I do think you exaggerate the lack of quality in the squad. Let me ask you a question mate. Every time I see BWFC mentioned on Sky coverage or the Football League show, and elsewhere, all the pundits/experts agree our squad is one of the strongest in the division.
This same squad of players accrued 37 points in the PL last season, which would be enough for survival most seasons.
How can it be that the squad of players is as terrible as you insist? That's my question mate.
Because we are doing so badly and nuns hasn't really put much thought into it?!
<wink>
Evening LH
To answer your question pal, they dont know their harris from their elbow and know nowt about the club. Its an easy thing to say when you keep hearing it,so becomes an easy answer to those who no nothing. Many fans are educated by the red top papers and believe what they are told.Great example when Man United signed Tiabi the italian keeper,my mate said "Tiabi is the best keeper in Italy,he is top draw, better than Peter".I enquired "Whats he look like mate?. Dont know was his reply!.
You watch the games LH,do you think we are good enough to get in the top six,let alone compete in the PL.
Nuns, I have been going for 36 years, so I can comment on our current squad and make comparisons right back to 1975!
There are many fans on here who do attend, and many who don't. It is wrong to just split this forum into those two camps. I don't always agree with your opinions and sometimes I do agree with you.
The current squad should be able to get into the playoffs. 7 points isn't that much ground to make up.
DF needs to now decide on his best 11 barring injuries and work on his system in training. 5 games is enough for him to stop tinkering.
nuns, I'm not talking about fans who read the papers though, I'm talking about (and I would normally never use this phrase because it evokes images of Megson) - people who know football.
The guys on the Football League show and who do the Championship coverage on Sky watch this league week in, week out, they know the teams, players and managers.
The squad of players we have is comfortably good enough to finish in the top 6. I've no doubt about that personally. Look at the terrible, terrible start we've had and we're only about 7 points off the top 6. It's such a tight league that anyone can beat anyone, it will always be easier to get out of the bottom half and into the top 6 than the PL because of the smaller gap between top and bottom.
These players were left in 17th place and on a near 2-year streak of diminishing confidence under Coyle. Last season a lot of them had to play on with injuries, saw a team mate medically dead on the pitch, key players out for long periods of time, and Coyle and his assistants had no answers. Mentally and emotionally you have to get people back up a neutral 'zero' point before you can instill positivity, self belief, tactics and systems that work.
Results like today will go a long, long way towards doing that. Our squad is the envy of this division. A lot of fans of other clubs have one or two outstanding players who they may rate better than anyone we have, but position by position - and what we have in reserve - is an abundance of riches at this level - IF and when the best can be got out of them.
Just sent my brother a text asking him about the game and this was his reply, which I thought I would share, because it made me laugh:
"We should have been 4-0 down at half time and Dougie threw on all his subs. 93rd minute free kick missed by Eagles and that seemed it. I did a Gary Neville when that beautiful b&$T#rd Ngog clipped his shot in via the post. Bolton fans beserk and Brighton distraught. F#c418g horrible day before that. Just got in."
