In all wars it's usually the poor people that suffer. In this case the people of Gaza. They are controlled by terrorists, lets not beat about the bush. However it does not make it right Israel's hard line stance, even though they do try not to target civilians, which is almost impossible. The other surrounding Arab nations and Arafat in particular before have had many opportunities to strike peace deals in the past and have turned them down. If they really cared for 'their own peoples' they would not carry out rocket attacks and ensure these people are amongst the poorest in the world. I am against innocent lives being lost and this continuous vicious circle of violence needs to be sorted.

It wasn't hatred between Muslims and Jews that started it, the media want you to believe that. Many rabbis have said that the Muslims and Jews lived in harmony before the massacres started all those years ago, but now people have been brainwashed, there is hatred between the two people.
Do you expect a country to have its land stolen and not fight back?
It's not a war, it's a massacre
The other surrounding Arab nations and Arafat in particular before have had many opportunities to strike peace deals in the past and have turned them down.
...........................................
It would be the equivelent of Britian signing a peace deal which gives away the majority of our land and the majority of our resources...
The deal's offered were basically the whole population of Britain shifts itself to some unworkable small bit of land in Wales without enough water and other resources to support us whilst the people we made the deal with get the rest of Britain and access to far more resources (like water) even though they have a smaller population so need less resources and less land...
Not to mention the fact the land and resources weren't theirs to begin with!
I suppose if immigrants invaded our country and we fought back the violence would be our fault if the immigrants offered us some crappy bit of Wales and we refused it?
Arafat turned down the peace deal!
Shared control of Jerusalem.
97% of west bank to Palestinians
One land
Right of return for Palestinian refugees to new Palestinian homeland
International presence in Jordan valley
Palestinian negotiators found terms acceptable, one man did not as he probably did not want to have to admit the conflict would be over then...
Its very complicated and you cannot just make analogies with GB, Wales or Ireland etc.
The Arabs and Jews have got on way better over 2000 years than Jews with the Christians that's for sure !
Yes the titles of the proposals looks good, but actually look into the proposals offered....
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1113
....................................................
Although some people describe Israel's Camp David proposal as practically a return to the 1967 borders, it was far from that. Under the plan, Israel would have withdrawn completely from the small Gaza Strip. But it would annex strategically important and highly valuable sections of the West Bank--while retaining "security control" over other parts--that would have made it impossible for the Palestinians to travel or trade freely within their own state without the permission of the Israeli government (Political Science Quarterly, 6/22/01; New York Times, 7/26/01; Report on Israeli Settlement in the Occupied Territories, 9-10/00; Robert Malley, New York Review of Books, 8/9/01).
.....................................................
There you go, their own West Bank, with the Israeli's kindly offering to set up security between the different sections, how kind.
.........................................................
The annexations and security arrangements would divide the West Bank into three disconnected cantons. In exchange for taking fertile West Bank lands that happen to contain most of the region's scarce water aquifers, Israel offered to give up a piece of its own territory in the Negev Desert--about one-tenth the size of the land it would annex--including a former toxic waste dump.
................................................
One of the most important natural resource filled area's, what a surprise the Israeli's want to have it for themselves (probably so they can water their gardens, much more vital than Palestinians having it for drinking water)
Ohh they make it fair though, they give them some other useless place about 1/10th of the size to make up for it, includes a toxic waste dump, what more could the Palestinians want?
........................................
Because of the geographic placement of Israel’s proposed West Bank annexations, Palestinians living in their new "independent state" would be forced to cross Israeli territory every time they traveled or shipped goods from one section of the West Bank to another, and Israel could close those routes at will. Israel would also retain a network of so-called "bypass roads" that would crisscross the Palestinian state while remaining sovereign Israeli territory, further dividing the West Bank.
..........................................
So the Palestinians would have a divided country where they would constantly require the Israeli's permission to cross their own land. Also the Israeli's would take even more of their land having roads dotted across the Palestinians land which would be for Israeli use only!
I am going to stop copy pasting from the article now but had Arafat signed that deal he would have just locked in the appaling conditions the Palestinians have suffered for the decades. If he had signed that he would have been no kind of leader at all....
Lastly it is very much the same as England, Ireland or Wales. People seem happy enough to give away the Palestinians land but imagine the population Israel just turned up in the UK today and started throwing us out of our homes and then began hogging all the valuable land and resources and left us with some unworkable patch of land?
I assure you the majority of Britain would want to fight back as the Palestinians have done!
I respect your opinion and knowledge. The problem is the two sides are further than ever apart it seems. The answer is not in suicide bombers or rockets being fired over and I am certainly no supporter of the Israeli government who are reactionary and above the law.
It's a very complicated region, on the one hand people suffering in appalling poverty and on the other a small country surrounded on all sides by countries that have in the past or indeed present refused to accept the state of Israel and indeed want wiping off the map.I don't know if there will be a solution in our life times but less hopes so.
Long live United anyhow 7_the_Arab!
Respect to you also If you must. I agree both sides are part of the problem, also I would say that many of the other middle eastern countries share some blame from the Palestine-Israel situation, many tryrants in the area see Israel as a great distraction from the problems in their own country. Anyway let us focus our mind on more positive things, like United. Or Cheering on Rafa's boys today.
It's funny that you are justifying what these guys are doing. Really amusing, Hamas wants to destroy Israel and are being funded by Iran who want to do the same.
Go back in history and you will find that the land being disputed doesn't belong to the Palestinians or should I say Egyptians who live in Palestine. The Romans when they conquered Israel changed the name of the country to Palestine and subjugated the Israelis who fled to europe seeking refuge.
The palestinians that occupy that country are for the most part Egyptians who happened across someone elses land.
So far as they continue to preach hatred and fire rockets into Israel, the Israelis will defend their territory.
MUDD who are funding Israel and their high tech weaponary which they have available to them againat Palestine and their home made rockets?
Arab...
What you are saying lacks truth...When Israel was formed, there was nothing there.... they created what they have
;, tilled the land and made it worthy again...Palestinians could do the same thing and Israel would help, I am sure, but they lack interest. Both sides are of the same ilk racially: merely different religions. And in truth this is what it is all about. It is the terrorist among the surrounding countries that are the real problem!
Go back in history
.................
2000+ years ago that happened, or would you be cool with some Celts turning up and throwing you out of Britain or just putting you in some crappy part of it with little water and other vital resources?
.........................................
What you are saying lacks truth...When Israel was formed, there was nothing there.... they created what they have
.......................................
There was land there, there were people there, there were houses there, there was farmland there. The land wasn't as productive as it is now but when the hell has that ever been an excuse to take land from people?
The water vital for humans to survive was certainly there.
Israel have taken the most productive land for themselves. Land which I will point out was not even theirs to begin with.
The only hope for the conflict is Israel realising it cannot have everything its own way, the other way is that some Ghandi like figure springs up and gets the entire Palestinian populations backing. With the hell hole Israel has created a combination of overcrowding, poverty and a constant state of war over the lifetime of many of the people that live there make that all but impossible so that simply put only Israel can solve this problem but at the moment they have chosen profit and resources over the lives of their civilians...
I'm sorry, your version of the facts is propaganda.
Israel own that land and have for over 2000 years and have been nice enough to share it and even let Palestinians come to Israel and work.
I would suggest the Palestinians go back to Egypt, their true country and stop squabbling over territory that isn't theirs

..................................
What?!
I am sorry but either you are high or you simply haven't got a clue what you are talking about. If Israel was already there and owned the land then why the hell was there a UN mandate to gift them the land?
Why the hell was there mass immigration of Jews after world war 2, mainly from Europe but from other places as well?
According to you they were already there!!
Which would also call into question the whole holocaust thing, or at least the Jewish part of it as according to you the Jews were safely in Israel were they had been living for 2000+ years not in Europe where the atrocities were happening.
On the off chance you aren't very educated on the matter and not just spewing propaganda
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Partition_Plan_for_Palestine
Of course I suppose there is a chance me, the UN and most of the world are wrong and Israel and its citizens managed to survive in Israel (or Palestine or whatever you want to call it) secretly for thousands of years...
