who would like to see us go back to a 442? It seems most teams now play with one striker (or if you are Barca or Chelsea the other night no recognised striker) so the days of 2 strikers seems to be disappearing

just a striker would be a start

Has to be Walker and McGinlay, no question. Iconic partnership. Got them both to sign my Anfield programme at a signing in that sports shop opposite Whitakers.

Super John and there's only one.
Andy Walker "Leaping like a salmon" to score against Souness' Liverpool at Anfield.
Happy days indeed.

Mcginlay and Walker then Blake and Mcginley, pretty sad that it's been 15 year since we had an exciting strike partnership.

None of us was alive to see it - not even SWIE - but Joe Smith and the extraordinary David Jack must have been quite something. You could not make up someone like David Jack. It started with his parents giving him the middle name "Bone" and went on from there. Died at 59 from a surfeit of capstan full strength, what an athlete.

But of the ones I saw, obviously Ian Marshall and Bo Hansen, well OK if not them McGinlay and Blake.

Loved Frank and Whatmore as a kid a great pairing.Super John n Blakey were outstanding in the final Burnden years, although I always liked Eidur n Deano who were outstanding at this level, wish we had the like now, hang on Benny mentioned Sordell n Ngog how true that sounds.

Ian Stevens didn't need a partner.

Thats a blast from the past MT,did ok for the Shakers though did Stinky Stevens. What about Andy Kennedy shudder to think what would have happened if he hadnt got injured and we replaced him with another loan signing.

Nuns.... These names just hit me from my memories on the embankment !!

We replaced Kennedy with Andy Walker, still the best goalscorer/natural finisher I have seen in a Bolton shirt.Loved Eidur as well, shame that 99 team got broke up really.Loved Ritchie at the back,Joey and Jonno on the wings,Jensen,Fish,Warhurst,Deano,Gudni, lot of characters and winners in that squad.
