For me it has to be you and us. Huge not just in Britain like Rangers and Celtc, but in the world.

Celtic/Rangers is much, much more than just football.

The Old Firm is the oldest and most famous rivalry in world football.

In the OF you wont get a great game in the Brazillian footballing sense, but a war of two tribes, you will find no spectacle to rival and as for the fans to sing their hearts out for 90 mins staright is afeat not matched in Europe or Britain.

The closest I have seen is South American derbies.

What about some of the South American teams?

Boca / River is big I think.

didn't realise man utd and liverpool were even seen as rivals

is it a two way rivalry or just like the spl where everyteam thinks Rangers are their big rivals but in reality we would never even think about their team or fans

man utd win stuff though

Liverpool don't

how can you be rivals?

did you used to compete against each other for trophies?

Liverpool v everton is derby

man city v man u is a derby

arsenal v spurs is a derby

liverpool v man u is a rivarly

posted on 24/7/11

Man U - Liverpool isn't a great derby as all the winner gets is bragging rights. Man U will inevitably finish higher. Similar to At Madrid R Madrid in that sense.

I agree that it has to be Rangers v Celtic. Apart from the fact that it's about more than football, the two are generally always competing for the trophies, which hasn't been the case with United v Liverpool.

I often wonder how different our rivalry would be if we won the title, then Liverpool, then us, then Liverpool etc …

As opposed to the Manchester derby, for example, when the winner gets the coveted Derby Cup?

pollocks

very obviously wumming or incredibly thick. I fancy the latter.

You skipped my next point ... That it doesn't matter if liverpool win as they're not going to finish higher. City have more chance of challenging you for honours than liverpool meaning more is riding on the match

Fair enough.

our "rivalry" with liverpool is as laughable as England claiming to be the germans' biggest rivals when everybody knows there's only one winner in that one.

Until and unless liverpool start winning trophies , I'll always consider Chelsea , City and Arsenal as our only rivals in english football.

Germanys biggest rivals are Holland.

Wales and Luxembourg. Intense. I've witnessed it.

Has to be Rangers v Celtic folks. The Chelsea v Liverpool rivalry is growing, with no love lost these days.
West Ham against Millwall can be tasty or any London derby, such as Spurs and the Gooners.
Swansea v Cardiff too for our Welsh brothers and in N.Ireland,Linfield and Glentoran fight it out on and off the pitch.

The old firm are by far the biggest rivals in every way though.Been there, done that and love it.

Describing it as intense rivalry is up to the individual.I prefer HATE.So it has to be liverpool.Celtic/rangers?Never been but I despise rangers right wing politics so Im supporting Celtic in spirit whenever they meet.
