Evening fella, good to see you have emerged from the wilderness of the post-606 t'internets.

A fair few of ye olde 606 regulars are floating about on this site (myself, Bricks, McDanger, largehat and Crazy_Campo to name a few) although its yet to get going properly and there is not the same atmosphere as on 606- don't think it'll ever be the same to be honest.

As for Cahill I think its a case of the club finally playing hard-ball over transfers like we have always wanted them to. They have a value determined for Cahill and they aren't going to budge on it. So until someone meets that valuation he will be staying put. What I'd like to see is us offering him a new contract to show we really won't be bullied. Tell him if someone comes in with a bid of X amount or X, Y and Z clubs come in (i.e. Champs League) and we will let him talk to them. He seems an honest lad who would go for that sort of arrangement. Much like the Anelka situation I think he'd recognise he wouldn't be where he is without us and would want the best deal for the club and himself.

Meanwhile I don't think not selling him will harm us in the market. The sales of Taylor, Al-Habsi and Ward have added to the transfer kitty, as has the removal from the wage bill of Elmander, Joey O'Brien Tamir Cohen and Andy O'Brien in January. I'm not sure about how I feel about our bids for the pair from Burnley- Eagles I feel could (and I stress could) be a good signing but with Gretski and Ricketts already at rightback Mears seems like a waste of time and money.

But in Coyle we trust, he's not done anything so far to warrant not trusting him.

Good to see you again zkat. Bante ron here is building nicely after a slow start, we've even encountered some new wums which im sure youll see more of once the season kicks off.

Regarding Cahill, I think most of us are of the opinion that we may be coming across as too desperate to sell him to fund any activity, therefore anybody interested seem to be waiting to either get him on the cheap in Jan or for free in summer. Or just nobodys that interested in him.

This week could be a busy one regarding incoming transfers. Eagles and Mears look nailed on with Reo-Coker not far behind. Still a little uncertainty with Jeffren and we still need 2 strikers, one preferably being a permanent signing.

I suspect the big clubs think Cahill is not quite good enough as of yet. To them the money we are asking is peanuts.....for a future England Center half? and still young. He should have been gobbled up by now. As far as we know there has not even been an offer...just rumors.

I have fingers crossed that something will happen regarding our striker situation but as of today we have a 48 year old SKD and Klas who has never played a full game since Nat Lofthouse was a lad. But we do have Robbie Blake signed again ...so that's somemat.

Our one signing Pratley seems decent from the highlight's I have seen. These Burnely's lads might be ok.

This time of year I always question if we want to be a top 10 side or not. We do seem to pin our hopes on Bosman's a bit to much for my liking.

We have a nasty early schedule and I hope the team will be together with whatever new players are coming in. QPR will be flying at full speed with their first game in the Prem. They will be looking to do a Blackpool on us.

Should be a fun ol' season again.

On paper our early run in looks nasty, but we are getting a few of the big boys out of the way before xmas. Also Utd never start well and the likes of City and Liverpool have/will have bought essentially new squads which will take time to gel properly. Liverpool have conceded a lot of goals pre season against far worse opposition than us

Talreet zkat ?

Good to hear from you again & there seems to be a decent mix of posters, both old and new. Our numbers on this site are as good as anyone outside the Sky6 I would say.

I remember Mich Caine & his gags.

The best one being about his game ruined by a kid behind moaning to his dad all through the about needing a pooh?

We all know that you clench to kingdom come, rather than have a dump at a football ground

I always enjoyed the one about the seat belts at the ground to stop fans standing up and the one about £5 fines if we booed the players Mich Caine = legend
