Sir Henry Joseph Wood CH (3 March 1869 – 19 August 1944) was an English conductor best known for his association with London's annual series of promenade concerts, known as the Proms. He conducted them for nearly half a century, introducing hundreds of new works to British audiences. After his death, the concerts were officially renamed in his honour as the "Henry Wood Promenade Concerts", although they continued to be generally referred to as "the Proms".

The number of positive Covid-19 cases linked to a food processing plant in Coupar Angus has now reached 90.

A total of 79 employees at the 2 Sisters factory have tested positive, plus 11 of their contacts. That is up from 68 on Thursday.

The plant was closed last Monday for two weeks and more than 800 staff have now been tested.

Workers and those sharing a household with them, including children, must self-isolate until 31 August.

Defender Phil Jagielka and midfielder Jack Rodwell have signed new one-year contracts at Sheffield United.

Jagielka, 38, and 29-year-old Rodwell, whose deals were due to expire on 30 June, signed short-term extensions to take them to the end of the delayed 2019-20 season.

"Phil is a valuable and respected member of the squad," said manager Chris Wilder. "The same applies with Jack, who offered us versatility and gave us options within the group during the second half of last term."

England international Jagielka made 10 appearances after rejoining United on a free transfer at the beginning of last season following 12 years at Everton.

I don't see Klopp walking away from Liverpool any time soon. Not saying it's impossible, as he left Dortmund before the end of his deal, but I see no reason why he'd leave Liverpool. Certainly not for another club job. I think he'd like to manage Germany at some point, but he's still relatively young as a manager and his energy levels and passion on a day to day basis certainly haven't waned at all. So I don't see him leaving club management or Liverpool for a few years yet

Donald Trump made a surprise stop at the Republican National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday afternoon after he was officially nominated to become the party's candidate in November.

Coming out onto the stage to his rally anthem 'God Bless the USA,' Trump was greeted by delegates at the scaled-down convention with chants of 'four more years.'

'We have to win. This is the most important election in the history of our country,' Trump said to cheers from a smaller-than-usual crowd.
