Saving Private Ryan actor Tom Sizemore's family have heartbreakingly revealed that there is 'no further hope' of recovery as he has made no sign of improvement.
The star was rushed to hospital in a 'critical condition' in February after suffering from a brain aneurysm and has been in a coma ever since.
Doctors have now recommended to his family that they make an 'end of life' decision for the actor, 61, according to a statement released by his manager Charles Lago.
He said: 'Today doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end of life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday.
'We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time, and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support and prayers that have been received.
'This has been a difficult time for them.'
Lago previously revealed that Sizemore's family were 'hoping for the best' when he was admitted to hospital.
But Sizemore's condition hasn't improved in more than a week since he suffered a brain aneurysm, as he remains in a coma in a Los Angeles ICU.
Sizemore's manager Lago told TMZ that medical staff treating the Detroit native have recommended an end-of-life plan for the ailing actor.
The family of the actor, who played the role of Sergeant Horvath in the 1998 Steven Spielberg film Saving Private Ryan, is currently determining a course of action and will issue a statement indicating their choice when it is made.
'We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank the hundreds of messages of prayers and support that have been received,' Lago said. 'This has been a difficult time for them.'
Lago said that Sizemore - also known for appearing in films including Natural Born Killers, True Romance and Heat, amid a turbulent personal life - suffered an aneurysm following a February 18 stroke at his Los Angeles home.

A commercial for the last Blockbuster store in the world which joked it would remain open 'til the bitter end' has boosted its sales by 200 percent.
The ad, which is set in post-apocalyptic Oregon, shows a cockroach traveling through a dystopian landscape before arriving at the video rental store, the only business to have survived.
Since the family-run store in Bend, Oregon, couldn't afford a $7million Super bowl commercial earlier this month, they decided to record something on a budget and release it on social media.
The vintage-feeling commercial nonetheless resonated with nostalgic Americans who have been supporting the business by buying merchandise related to the commercial, including t-shirts featuring the cockroach, named Steve, and physical VHS tapes containing the 30-second ad.

Egyptian antiquities officials say they have confirmed the existence of a hidden internal corridor above the main entrance of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Video from an endoscope showed the inside of the corridor, which is 9m (30ft) long and 2.1m (7ft) wide.
The officials say it could have been created to redistribute the pyramid's weight around the entrance or another as yet undiscovered chamber.
It was first detected in 2016 using an imaging technique called muography.
A team of scientists from the ScanPyramids Project were able to sense density changes inside the pyramid by analysing how it was penetrated by muons, which are by-products of cosmic rays that are only partially absorbed by stone.
The non-invasive technique detected an empty space behind the northern face of the Great Pyramid, about 7m above the main entrance, in an area where there is a stone chevron structure.
Further tests were carried out with radar and ultrasound before a 6mm-wide (0.24in) endoscope was fed through a tiny joint in-between the stones that make up the chevrons.
Junior doctors say their 72-hour strike in England is set to go ahead after a "disappointing" meeting with the government on Thursday.
Talks with Health Secretary Steve Barclay were "a facade", said British Medical Association (BMA) reps, who accused him of stalling tactics.
It comes as other health unions have been invited for formal pay talks and nurses have begun theirs.
The government says any NHS pay offers must be affordable for taxpayers.

Arctic Monkeys and Guns N' Roses will top the bill at this year's Glastonbury Festival, organisers have announced.
The rock bands join previously-announced headliner Sir Elton John, who will play the last UK show of his farewell tour at Worthy Farm in June.
Other acts on the line-up include Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Lil Nas X, Manic Street Preachers, Wizkid and Blondie.
Singer-songwriter Cat Stevens will play the coveted "legend slot", previously occupied by Kylie and Dolly Parton.
The Sunday afternoon set traditionally draws one of the festival's biggest audiences, with Diana Ross attracting an estimated 80,000 people last year.
Blondie will take to the Pyramid stage immediately after Stevens - effectively creating a "double legend" slot.
Reality TV contestant Stephen Bear has been jailed for 21 months for sharing a private video of him having s ex with his ex-partner.
Bear, 33, shared CCTV footage of himself and Love Island star Georgia Harrison, which was uploaded to OnlyFans.
He was found guilty of voyeurism and disclosing private, s exual photographs and films in December.
Ms Harrison said she had been through "absolute hell" since 2020.
Bear was given a restraining order at Chelmsford Crown Court to not contact Ms Harrison for five years.
He was also ordered to sign the s ex offenders register and will be subject to notification requirements for 10 years.
Ms Harrison, who has appeared on The Only Way Is Essex and Olivia Meets Her Match, has waived her right to anonymity.
Jacqueline Carey KC, prosecuting, told an earlier trial that Ms Harrison and Bear had consensual s ex at his home in Loughton, Essex, but Ms Harrison did not know they were being recorded.
Disgraced Paralympian Oscar Pistorius could be released from prison in South Africa 'within weeks' after serving half of his sentence for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home in 2013.
A parole board will consider Pistorius' case on March 31, just over a decade after he fatally shot Ms Steenkamp four times through his bathroom door in the early hours of Valentine's Day.
Ms Steenkamp's parents, who oppose the idea of their daughter's killer's release, have no power to block it as criminals are automatically eligible for parole after serving half of their sentence.
Pistorius, 36, claimed during his trial that he believed Ms Steenkamp was an intruder, but was eventually found guilty of murder and sentenced to 13 years and five months.
The announcement of the parole hearing comes after it was revealed the ex-athlete will be given 24-hour police protection upon his release, due to fears of retaliation attacks.
The ambulance strike due to take place on Monday has been called off, two unions have announced.
The GMB and Unite said they had "paused" the 6 March action by Welsh Ambulance Service staff.
A spokesman said: "Significant progress has been made and we are pausing our action to allow us to continue discussions.
"Thank you for all your support so far. We will update you as soon as we are able."
More than half of Wales' ambulance workers went on strike in a continued dispute over pay and working conditions in February, with Unite and GMB members both walking out.
That came after ambulance staff rejected a Welsh government pay offer of 3% for for 2022-23.
At the time Unite's Richard Munn said the offer was "not good enough" for workers who were at "breaking point".
The offer was on top of the average 4.5% paid to health workers last autumn.
The price of a first class stamp is to rise above £1 in April, Royal Mail has announced.
From 3 April, first class stamps will increase by 15p to £1.10, while second class stamps will rise by 7p to 75p.
Royal Mail said the increases were needed to ensure the "one-price-goes-anywhere Universal Service remains sustainable".
But Citizens Advice said nobody should be paying more for a "subpar service" and called for the regulator to act.
The price increases will come in the day before the first stamps with the image of King Charles go on general sale.
Royal Mail said the changes had been subject to "careful consideration" with letter volumes down 25% since the pandemic and with the business facing rising costs.
"We appreciate that many businesses and households are facing a challenging economic environment and we are committed to keeping our prices affordable," said Nick Landon, chief commercial officer at Royal Mail.
"We have to carefully balance our pricing against a continued decline in letter volumes and the increasing costs of delivering letters six days a week to an ever-growing number of addresses across the country."
