The year 1991 saw the rise of a ten-year-long boost of the US domestic economy with the Dow Jones Industrial Average remarkably closing in April at above 3,000 for the first time. This situation would only be cut short by the Dot-com bubble of 2000–2002.
Gary Neville is to join Dragons' Den as a guest Dragon for the 2024 series.
Titanic star Lew Palter passed away at age 94 from lung cancer at his Los Angeles home on May 21.
The New York City-born thespian is perhaps best remembered for his role as real-life department store magnate Isidor Straus, who embraced his wife in bed as the Titanic sank, in James Cameron's critically-acclaimed $2.2B-grossing 1997 drama which streams July 1 on Netflix.
News of Palter's passing comes amid the recent tragedy in which five passengers aboard the OceanGate Titan submersible exploring the remains of the ill-fated ship died when the craft imploded.
Now it has emerged that Wendy Rush - the widow of late OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush who was one of the five to die on board Titan - is descended from Isidor and Ida Straus, the wealthy New York couple played by Palter and Elsa Raven in Cameron's film.
Wendy's great-great-grandparents died in the historic disaster - with Isidor being a co-founder of the Macy's department store.
2008 – Robert Mugabe was re-elected as President of Zimbabwe with an overwhelming majority after his opponent Morgan Tsvangirai withdrew, citing violence against his party's supporters.
Missing British actor Julian Sands has been confirmed dead after the body found in the San Gabriel mountains in southern California was confirmed to be his remains.
Sands, who was known for his roles in Oscar-nominated films including 1985's A Room With A View, was reported missing by his family on January 13.
The 65-year-old disappeared during a trek in the Mount Baldy area of California's San Gabriel Mountains.
On June 24, hikers in the same area stumbled upon human remains in the wilderness near Mount Baldy.
They were sent to the coroner's office for identification - and now are confirmed to be Sands. His cause of death is still being determined.
2007 – Tony Blair resigns as British Prime Minister, a position he had held since 1997. His Chancellor, Gordon Brown succeeds him.
Stanley Ernest Walter Cox (15 July 1918 – 27 June 2012) was a British athlete who competed in two Olympic games in 1948 and 1952. Born in Wood Green, England, he served with Royal Air Force in World War II before competing in the 10,000-metre event at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Unable to participate in the 1950 British Empire Games, he returned to the Olympics in 1952, although he did not complete his event, the marathon, due to the flu. At the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, he suffered a sunstroke and collapsed within two miles (3 km) of the finish. He retired from running in 1956, but continued to work with UK Athletics for several years and was due to participate in the ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The huge chunks of metal were unloaded from the Horizon Arctic ship at the Canadian Coast Guard pier in St John's, Newfoundland, Canada, this morning. They were quickly covered in large tarpaulins before being lifted by cranes on to lorries that took them away for assessment. It comes exactly ten days after the doomed Titan submersible vanished during a tourist trip run by OceanGate Expeditions. Last Thursday it was revealed that the sub had suffered a 'catastrophic implosion' near the bottom of the ocean, killing all five on board.
Presumed human remains have been recovered from within the wreckage of the Titan, the submersible that imploded on a voyage to the Titanic earlier this month, killing all five aboard, the US coast guard reported on Wednesday.
A member of Glastonbury Festival's crew has died after being found unresponsive in his tent.
Police officers were called to The Park area of the site in Pilton, Somerset, at around 14:20 BST on Tuesday.
The man, in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
It follows the death of another man, who died after a medical incident on part of the site known as the old railway line on Sunday.
Deaths at the festival - which is attended by more than 200,000 people - are uncommon.
Avon and Somerset Police said reports are being prepared for the coroner in relation to both of the deaths.
Glastonbury Festival ended on Monday, though crew remain at the site to clear up and return it to fields that are ready for cows to graze on.
This year's event was headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Gun N' Roses and Sir Elton John.
Sir Elton brought the festival to a close on Sunday night, in what was billed as his final UK show before he retires from touring at the end of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
At least a dozen people have died of heat-related causes in Texas and Louisiana as extreme temperatures continue to plague the country.
Eleven of the deaths took place in Texas' Webb County on the Mexican border, according to local officials.
Hundreds of other Texas residents have been sent to emergency rooms, breaking previous records.
The current weather is the result of a heat dome, in which high pressure is trapped because of wind patterns.
In Webb County - which is centred on the city of Laredo - the heat-related fatalities ranged in age from 60 to 80.
"We don't see this in our county," county medical examiner Dr Corinne Stern said at a meeting of local officials on Tuesday.
"Laredo knows heat. Webb County knows heat. And I think our county was caught a little off guard.
"These are unprecedented temperatures here due to this dome of high pressure."

Cardiff City has been ordered to pay Nantes the transfer balance for Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash before he could play for the Welsh side.
The BBC has been told that Fifa has told the Championship club to pay more than €11m (£9.45m).
That covers the last two instalments of the €17m agreed between the clubs.
Meanwhile, French prosecutors have confirmed several employees of FC Nantes have been arrested.
That is as part of an investigation into money laundering and tax fraud.
In a statement, Nantes public prosecutor's office said the FC Nantes club manager, his deputy general manager and two people, including a players' agent, were placed in police custody but have since been released pending an investigation.
