I haven't a clue why everyone is shoving Podolski out left these days. He was devastating for Germany when partnered with Klose up front. He's even on the left for Germany now.
Podolski's really struggles to get involved in games on the left, he hardly does anything in a lot of games. When he gets chances he's clinical though.
That's what he is, clinical finisher and can create in the box. Essentially he's a finisher shoved out left and asking him to do all the dirty work isn't helping anyone.
Just cuz he's left footed...
