Team made up of players £10m or under

Lindegaard,
Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Buttner
Clevs, Powell, Fletch, Fabio
Welbeck, Chico

I think we are doing ok in that respect

My problem is the money we waste as a club on garbage. I dont want us to spend like City and Chelsea, just use the money better, and that falls on the scouts and manager alone.

Money spent on Berbatov would have been better used on 3 young players being developed, even though we all knew Berbatov wasnt right for us.

Whether he's 'United quality' or not shouldn't be decided after one injury plagued first season.

I'm keeping an open mind. When he is on form he's pretty tasty and some of the crosses he puts in are undefendable to he deserves time

34 mate.

now dont take this personally because as a poster i do like you (in a manly way of course) but you can tell your age simply because of the fact you can tell youve been spoiled by success mate.

believe me, ive seen some sheite despite being only 8 years older than you.

when we first won the PL you would have been 6, and since then all youve known is success ( which is fine and isnt a dig) but some of those players you mentioned are world class compared to the Ralph milnes, mal donaghy's and russell beardsmores that we had to put up with before fergie won the PL.

During Berba's stay, we developed Welbeck and bought/developed Chico..... So you point is moot.

To be fair my argument isnt to do with success. I would much rather see us play expansive football and use our younger players from the youth system and develop more like we used to.

At present we seem lethargic, devoid of ideas and the excitement seems to have gone.

If anything I am unhappy at the amounts of money wasted on the likes of Berbatov etc, I am not saying lets go spend loads of money.

I said money spent on 3 young players not Welbeck who is a youth product.

On the weekend young did pay well, but not in the way you'd expect him too. Evra, Ando, Rooney were all making runs off him and he made a lot of nice touches too keep the move going.

What he wasn't doing is taking people on and putting the ball in the box, which is what we need from him, IMO.

We brought Kagawa in to be the playmaker, saying that, if young can play that way and bring the attributes needed from a traditional winger, I'd be eating my own words and congratulate him in proving me wrong.

For now, it's still his one good performance in 10 we are used to.

Can't exect every signing to be a success. We are not the only club that do this. Madrid bought Lass for £24m and he is one of theworst players I've ever seen. Seriously, terrible footballer. French Lee Cattermole.

Barca effectively wasted silly money on Ibra, although he wasn't as bad as people made out. He scored quite a few goals but didn't suit their play and they took a huge loss on him (similar to Berba in that respect).

i see where HNIC is coming from, you should have watched the reserves game last night, we were fantastic going forward, playing some really good stuff lingaard and petrucci were excellent, id rather give them a chance in the first team along with the likes of powell, at least we might see some good football, look at how the midfield played in istanbul with powell, clevs and anderson playing some really neat intricate, exciting passing football

Can I add, Young is a cheating

Doesn't help him with the Utd crowed, even at OT when Young goes down these days people assume it's a dive.

mexican,

i agree to a point, but there is a big step up from the reserves to the first team, you still need your squad players like young too.

posted on 4/12/12

yh i agree, but ive said before a squad player shouldnt cost 18 million and 120-130k a week

At running around like a headless chicken and kicking people. At football, he is terrible.
