Rangers walking away

I was just about to write my own article on this. no way on earth should we split the gate, bitter bitter gers can just f--k off for me! they conveniently forget the money they ripped us off for and as always just want to play the victim. must really rile them that the spl doesnt need them to function, lets just kick their a--e out the cup and send them back to where they belong!

And just to point out one last time F.A.O Mr Charles Green, we did not kick rangers out of the SPL nor did anyone else! they formed a new company which was never in the SPL to start with! this new company joined the football league at the bottom as it states in the rules. which part of that is so difficult to understand?

They deserve and should get nothing from this game. Also the tone of that clown greens statement should be looked at by the sfa, this guy is the biggest joke in Scottish football, many managers have been pulled up and sanctioned for less than this clown has been saying, he said they made Motherwell welcome at ibroke, this suggests that other clubs are not welcome, if thats the case he should come out and say who are not welcome.
I for one hope they do boycott the game, if they do, I hope United board retain their share of the gate which as far as I am concerned would be justified.

Its so comical, they blame us for putting them in division 3

But they wanted to go to division 3 anyway

Surely they should be thanking us

If I was Stephen Thompson Id do family of 4 deals and parent and child deals aswell get as many arabs in as possible. The thought of playing a weakened team in front of only United fans will surely to good to miss.

If theres any justice in the world we'll win 7-1 2 offside goals, 2 dodgy penalties (one outside the box) 2 deflections and a back pass gone wrong

I don't believe it 5evco is now a banned word on here

SFA board meeting on Thursday will discuss what happens to the cash split. Surely they have to let United keep it since it's an official club boycott. If so, drop the prices and do everything possible to make it a sell out.

There will be Rangers fans who want to go to this game and they now can't make the decision themselves, how can that be in the fans' best interests from Green?

Of course, just because the club don't take the allocation doesn't mean United cant sell away end tickets themselves anyway, I'm sure they were doing that for league games latterly when Rangers wanted to charge United for them selling tickets to their own fans? Or am I wildly wrong?

Border, there is plenty of rangers fans wanting to go for sure, for the club to refuse the tickets is beyond childish. Every united fan will want to go now, drop the prices a wee bit, everyone gets paid again at the start of feb

A weakened rangers in front of only united fans at tannadice to book a place in the scot cup 1/4 final who wouldn't want to go to that for £10-12

It's all very petty isn't it.

As far as I'm concerned they can do what they want. I don't care. I'll be at the game supporting my team, as a good supporter does.

I actually feel sorry for the Rangers fans who wanted to go - I wouldn't be happy at being denied the opportunity to support my team by a complete mouthpiece looking to toady up to the more 'radical' element of their support.

Its sad Ivan, but theres already even fans of other clubs saying they'll come along to the game so I don't think they've done themselves any favours. Just offended another football club and enraged even more people. Is Charles Greene a fit and proper enough man to be running a football club

posted on 4/12/12

Yeah I've saw that. Personally I find that laudable but they really don't need to. I would hope that our own fans will make the effort, especially since I'd expect the pricing to be vastly reduced given that we won't really need any policing costs since there won't be any away fans.

As for Charles Greene....I can't make my mind up on whether he's an idiot or a genius.

It's an awkward one for the club and Tayside Police.
If the away end is open to anyone, there's the chance of trouble. The alternative to that would be a half-empty ground with no away tickets for sale.
Nobody wins. Seems very short sighted of Rangers

Ivan,
clearly, he's an idiot

Idiot and a-se licker, Greene is to mensa what leigh griffiths is to male modelling!

I just want to know what the criteria is for being an "enemy of Rangers"

We should have that listed in along with the trophies we've won and other achievements

posted on 4/12/12

paying your bills on time and not stinking of p-ss will probably be part of that criteria

posted on 4/12/12

Spur, surely if they have refused tickets then there is no away end??? The whole stadium would just be home fans, either that or leave the smallest stand empty!!!

posted on 4/12/12

The only police presence that I can see might in the most extreme case be needed is outside the ground in case some idiots among the Rangers fans decide to do a picket like they were apparently threatening to do before the boycott was announced officially.

However that would be outside the ground so I can't see how the club would have to pay for that?

westcoast. Just thinking that the rangers supporters who do want to go will end up among the united fans unless there's some sort of segregation. There's going to be a few there no matter what their nutter chairman says.

What would be hilarious, and would not surprise me one bit, would be if Thompson said "fluck off" to Greene and said the shed was for Rangers fans and we'll happily sell to them from the clubshop.

I wonder how many would go? The militant arm of their fans would be frothing.

Spur, yeah true enough I remember a few getting huckled from the centenary game

Just want to point out another issue a mate of mine mentioned just there on twitter.

Since Rangers are a lower league team, the rules are that both teams have to agree to the ticket prices.

This could get very acrimonious.

posted on 4/12/12

Ivan, but surely if a team is waving its rights to any tickets then it seems outrageous that they can then have a say in the price??
They surely cant opt out of their ticket allocation, then say ok tickets must be sold at £30 and then take half the money!!!! That's seems insane

posted on 4/12/12

Would you put it past them?

They could insist that United charge what they have for previous cup matches against Rangers, which I imagine would be close to the £20 mark.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Greene did something like that.

posted on 4/12/12

Or should I say, what we charged against Oldco Rangers.

posted on 4/12/12

Although ticket prices are regularly dropped for televised games, so why should this be any different. We'll need to lower the prices to get the fans interested in a game with a team struggling in the 3rd division
