Ratings

Hmmm.

Wasn't great, but methinks your ratings are a tad harsh. The most worrying for me was the Ox and Ramsey (not a Ramsey hater btw), 2 players who se a fair bit of action, who looked definitively 'off the pace'.

Thought Rosicky, who was subbed after 45 mins was the best player on the pitch.

Had given Gervinho, Ramsey and a few others the benefit of the doubt last season but it is evident they are not at the required level.

Just glad that we qualified to be honest. At least we will two more CL games this season.

Szczesny 6 - Couldn't do much in the goals, but did pull off some saves to make it respectable.

Jenks 6 - Decent again. I like the attitude of this lad. He's one for the future.

Squish 4 - We knew he was awful and with the little amount of games he was always going to be rusty.

Verm 4 - Woefully out of form. Was at fault for their first goal.

Meade 6 - A very decent game. Maybe a little lightweight for the PL, but still looked decent.

Ramsey 6 - Wasn't as bad as the plastics make out. Should have scored with his chance. The 1st goal was never his fault.

Coquelin 4 - This guy doesn't look the part for me. Awful in possession, rubbish on the tackle and was lucky to have got away with a few tackles.

Rosicky 7.5 - He might be crocked, but he's class. Oh how the fortunes of Arsenal could have been different if we had a fully fit Rosicky throughout his career.

Ox 4 - Another awful game. The guy has talent, but something is stopping him from showing it. Maybe a loan move is on the cards.

Gervinho 3 - I had a good debate with Lex where i was defending Gerv. I was wrong. He really is God awful. Worst player i've seen with a Arsenal shirt.

Chamakh 5 - Considering the games he's played, this wasn't a bad game for him. He's a bit rusty and it showed, but held the ball well.

Others

Arshavin 4 - Not really. Showed all the signs of someone who's confidence has been sucked out and is looking for a move. A fully fit Rosicky will mean he's now welcome to leave soon.

Angha N/A - Didn't show much.

I thought Chamachk did well for someone who has started only 3 games in a year.

What exactly are you expecting from him?

If Gerhead put him though earlier he might have scored but the fool decided to hold onto the ball.

I thought he held the ball up ok but his passing was abit rash.

Coquelin - 2 (I hate the fool)

Btw, OP your ratings are fecking awful. Clueless.

Verm 8?! Squish 6?! Jenks 3??

Got to say, apart from a period in the 2nd half when the team was like a boxer on the ropes, I thought Vermaelen played as well as I've seen him all season.

Gervinho is the most hit and miss player I've seen in an Arsenal shirt.

Some of what he does is very effective and there's no other player on the pitch who can create smething the way he does, his assist for Rosicky was brilliant .

Unfortunately he can't play with his head up and his decision making is that of a drunk man on a diet.

Doesn't say much Moist. Vermaelen has been pretty woeful this season. OK, he was making fine interceptions and bicycle kicks to clear the ball, but he positionally at faul for their first.

The analysis showed that Verm wondered off and was eventually 6 yards ahead of the ball when the ball came off Ramsey. What on earth was he doing there??

Not really... you gave Jenkinson 6. I like the lad but come on on he was poor last night. And Vermaelen 4, and Chamakh 5 and I'm clueless??

I agree with this:

Vermaelen was good.

What exactly did Chamakh do so wrong?! It was his 3 start FFS! And Vermaelen was awful. A few hollywood bicycle kicks and suddenly he's class again.

As for Jenks....hope you don't mind but i think i'll trawl through your past comments, because i'm sure you have a hatred for the lad. He was far from awful. The only time he was poor was when he let the wide man run behind him and that player should have scored.

Definitely been off form this season. Very much so. Disagree he was solely at fault for the 1st goal, that was (as is Arsenal's style) a group effort of indecision and failure to pick players up, Ramsey (eeeek) probably took a kick up the arris' for that.

Apart from Rosicky who only had 45 minutes worth of gas, I think Vermaelen was Arsenal's best player on the night.

Nobody has pointed out the guy who scored their 1st goal was offside.

Szc - 7 - Made some vital saves

Jenk - 6 - Decent game from Jenkinson
Sq - Feed the Sqid
TV - 5 - Average performance from the captain
Meade - 6 - I like the prospect of this kid

Coq - 4 - If people think he's a decent cover CDM, they need their head seeing too.
Ram - 2 - Offered nothing at all
Rosicky - 7 - Great goal

Ox - 3 - No impact what so ever
Cham - 5 - Not bad considering hes had three games
Gerv - 3 - Headless, useless, clueless and complete sh ite

Subs:

Arsh - 6 - Decent impact, lack of service

Szc - 6- Good saves but could have done better for 2nd goal

Jenk - 6 - Solid game but no special moments
Sq - 6 - He did better than I expected him to do
TV - 4 - Captaion woeful
Meade - 2 - No future. Too lightweight and beaten countless times, offered no relief going forward

Coq - 4 - Overrated pile of crap
Ramsey - 3 - e has had fair amount of chances now and he has disappinted. Sell him to Cardiff
Rosicky - 8 - Best player on the pitch 1st half
Ox - 4 - Some good moments with good crosses but not influential
Chamakh - 5 - Led the line well 1st half and had a couple of good chances
Gerv - 4 - Good assist but he is very greedy and crap. When he puts his head up and look for passes he is good

Bad excuse because we should be able to defend a corner anyway.

Go for it.

What Chamakh did wrong was almost everything! Ok fine he hasn't played at all but it's not like he hasn't been at training! He showed no urgency, almost all his passes were wayward, his positioning was mostly poor (couple of good headers) and I don't think he managed a shot. Okay 1 is harsh and 4/5 probably more accurate, but he isn't a 19 year old making his debut he's someone that hasn't played for two years because he's just not good enough.

Agree with Fubo's ratings apart from Vermaelen, 7 for me, our best player after Rosicky.

To be fair to Chamakh, he could have had an assist yesterday if only Ramsey had any kind of coordination and balance!
I'm sorry but the guy needs to go on loan (or be sold) ASAP!

I Remember when Denis Bergkamp came bk from an Injury it would usually take him 2-3 games to get bk in his top form.

Now im not comparing Chammy to him but its you have played 3 games in a bloody year what exactly are u expecting from him? A couple of assists and a hat trick?

This is Wenger fault he is soo out of form. 10-15 Mins of game time every week when the going gets tough (which it is atm) should be given to Chamackh after all he is the only other striker we have apart from Giroud.

I personally dont like Chamackh and think he should be sold BUT if Fergie can give RVP,Rooney,Welbeck & Henendez quite abit of game time why the fudge cant wenger considering he only has Giroud?

dont give me that bull, we have Giroud, Walcott, Podolski & Gevinho when they all play on the wide apart from a few games for Forhead where he played up front.

posted on 5/12/12

I thought Chamakh actually had a good game (especially given how he plays one game every two months nowadays). Some intelligent movement and some nice layoff, and a peach of a cross to Arshavin (unfortunately it was to arguably our worst player in the air). It is idiotic that we don't veen put him on the bench and prefer playing Gervinho as target man
Also Coquelin had a good first half I thought? A lovely throughball to Chamakh which Chamakh was flagged offside for (very tight call). Lets not forget that its tough for any of these players to have a superb game if they never get a consistent run of games

And good god Gervinho. Lovely assist, and great ability to take 3 defenders out of the game, but my word, his decision making is appalling. He had such a great chance to play a simple pass to Chamakh but instead kept his head down and collided with a defender. Easily the most infuriating player I have seen in an Arsenal shirt.
