Would be my team. I couldn't do a World 20, as far too many good teams. Europe was hard enough and have missed out lots of big teams.

you would have to be a millionaire just to follow all the away games!!

But I do wish the Champions League did exactly what it said on the tin and was just for champions I'm sure they could find 32 leagues in Europe! The Europa would be better as just one big knockout competition! but it'll never happen...

and that's why I don't work for UEFA....

Denim jays the reason they would is because they would probably take the biggest away fans to all games and have full houses even if the home stadiums were increased to 100 thousand

dont think either gers or celtic would make it.

Great fanbases etc, but defo not in top 20 clubs in world football.

Lennyisfromvenus.

River Plate? Do you follow world football at all?

They play in the 2nd division in argentina

posted on 25/7/11

did they get relegated, shizzo that is like Rangers or Celtic getting relegated, what the hell happened to them!

Lenny,
if you are going on fan-bases, or teams with big away followings then there would be a big difference.
To start with, teams outside of the UK cannot compete worldwide in terms of fan-base with the exception of Real and Barca, so out of the twenty teams you'd probably have 12 from England. That isn't really a worldwide league then is it. Also Leeds would probably be up there in terms of away support, and we can't have that...

yeah they got put down!

it was a big artical in WorldSoccer this month.

I think relegation is decided by points in the last 3 seasons, and they were very low down and lost a playoff game!

But yeah the top side in argentina now are velez

deminjays the only thing holding both us and Celtic back is the league we play in and lack of TV money the top teams in Every league on the planet are the ones with the most support.

You can't say England would be the top when the Bundesliga has the highest average attendances.

We would have the largest travelling attendances in that league mentioned above. As soon as it was proposed you would see both Rangers and Celtic build 100,000 + seater stadiums and fill them week in week out.

You only have to look at Europe right now where Rangers have the UEFA record for travelling fans and the CL recrod for travelling fans with Celtic just behind with their Seville attendances.

To get the sponsorship and TV deals that this
needs there would need to be
12 European - Man U, Man C, Liverpool, Barca,
Real M, AC, Inter, two Russian, PSG or Lyon,
plus two others, doubtful if this would be either
Rangers or Celtic
3 S American - 1 Brazilian, 1 Argentinian plus
AN OTHER
2 from probably Asia probably Japanese and
Saudi
2 from US probably LA Galaxy and an east coast
side
1 from South Africa.

Even with air travel it would be exceptionally
difficult to meet all the logistical headaches.

Castle and Lenny,
I constructed my list of 20 teams going on those which I think are the best from Europe, as I said previously.
Personally I just wouldn't put either Glasgow team in the same bracket. You don't have to agree, that's the whole point of the article!
