Well we dont have to give it away.
We will do what we see fit with it.
Charity or pa sh it against a wall it is none of you business anyway.

Strangely it wasnt small minded when Utd were going to boycott their own league matches

United gave any profit made from the rearranged game to charity.

We're a classy club that way.

And as you well know nobody associated with United officially called for a boycott, certainly not Mr Thompson. He was in fact the last person who wanted the fans to boycott.

Perhaps Chico should take note.

Green took note of the fans wishes, Ivan, same as 10 other chairmen a while back.

DC76

It was given to charity

Ath

He never called for a boycott though did he? Nor did any supporters group. And he certainly hasn't gone back on his promise to "move on" unlike a certain Mr Green.

well your chaiman is an even bigger phannie than I thought,
Ignoring the wishes of his own fans and their sporting integrity

Green is only doing what the fans want.
Listen to the fans we got all summer.

Now its a very bad thing

The money went to a charity called United for Kids

In 2004, in response to a suggestion from an exiled fan in Canada, Dundee United FC offered a facility which allowed supporters to sponsor season tickets for disadvantaged children. The Club pledged to match any funds raised from fans in this way to ensure that the number of season tickets available under this scheme was doubled. For season 2011-12, over 270 season tickets were allocated to children and young people from across Dundee, together with a provision for their adult supervisors and carers.

Over the seven year life of this project, around £275,000 worth of season tickets have been made available through donations and fund raising from individual local and exiled fans, supporters’ organisations, fans’ messageboards and from the Club itself which has matched £1 for £1 the generosity of the fans.

The tickets are circulated through Dundee's Integrated Children and Young Person's Services, both within the city council and the voluntary sector to ensure that the most disadvantaged children in the community benefit, giving many of these young people an opportunity they might not have, to see their local football heroes in action. Those benefiting include children who are living away from home in residential or foster care, those who have previously been ‘looked after’, those who are young carers themselves and generally, children and carers who would not otherwise be able to attend matches.

The feedback from this scheme has been extremely positive, with workers and carers reporting that children and young people were getting a great deal from the scheme. Indeed in 2009, the scheme received a letter of commendation from the Lord Provost.

It is also important to point out that, in total, Dundee United FC issue over 20,000 free tickets to local school children over the course of each season and operates many other not for profit community initiatives including community and schools coaching schemes, healthy life style projects and adult learning and job training courses to name but a few. The Club is also actively involved in anti racism and anti sectarianism seminars. United For All was formed to successfully expand the Club’s involvement in these areas.

Im glad the rangers are getting 40% of the money, I wouldn't want it, hopefully it will be a decent turn out for the game. Im sure its generated plenty of interest already. I think we should sell a small allocation to the the rangers fans from the shop, and do our up most to fill the rest of the place ourselves. If I cant make the game I will send money over for an adult and child to go

If there is any justice in the world we'll win by a substancial margin

CHARLES GREEN and the Board of Rangers Football Club has noted speculation regarding possible outcomes of gate distribution as a result of Rangers' decision not to take tickets for the Scottish Cup match against Dundee United at Tannadice.

The chief executive said: “The Club was contacted by Dundee United requesting us to waive our rights to the share of the gate under Cup Competition Rule 46©, this was declined.
"It has been decided by the board that any proceeds from gate receipts due to the Club will be donated to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice Brick by Brick Appeal and Erskine charities via the Rangers Charity Foundation.”
