Short corners i agree, about brown though i disagree.
His passing isnt good il give you that but his drive, determination and motivation is absolutely what we need just now, particularly when the general opinion is that half the team just isnt bloomin tryin domestically
Tornado I think you are being a little harsh on Brown.
yes some of his passing was off but there were a lot of good parts to his game last night that contributed to our win. His drive, forward runs and tackling was superb and allowed guys like Commons and Samaras the ability to run forward.
I actually thought Lustig had a good game as well...
I had to laugh at the corner piece with Mulgrew and Sammy . It was like a comedy sketch especially the way Charlie's shouts came across on the audio under the background noise
Brown was magnificent. Yes he'll hit a few stray passes but he sets the tempo for the team. For me he is our most important player and a worthy captain and I wish people would get off his back.
We need guile and craft in this team...BADLY.
No width other than what we rarely get from full-backs and Forrest is too injury prone.
Wingers and a 'Paul McStay' type please, Santa
Brown was good last night i would have him in the team every game if he was fit enough
Brown will never be a Xabi Alonso, i've slated him numerous times for his lack of technical ability but we always play better with him in the team so he must be in the team when fit
It feels harsh saying it after such a great achievement but he frustrated me time and time again last night . I know what he brings to the team and its the usual words that are associated with him ...drive , motivation and determination but that should all be a given . I also think this eagerness is sometimes counter productive .
he barged into a guy heemed into the corner flag last night which in turn gave them the free kick and took all the pressure off him . Now i know this happens but i think its typical of what he does .
I'm of the opinion that we played better football in Lenny's first season as manager.
Kayal and Emilio are shadows of their former selves and Forres being out injured all the time doesn't help
How people can say he was good last night i do not know .... his best moment in the match led to the pen when he cut the ball off and played it to Hooper ...other than that it was all effort and no product
other than that it was all effort and no product

I would say that's what most of our team have gave during this campaign...Brown brings tempo to this team and we have always played better this season, when he's in the team
For me, last nights negative was Hooper.. He was hiding the whole game and got lucky with his goal.
We were crap going forward.. Our masterplan was to just punt it to Sammy and hope he did something which never happened ask night until he feel over in the box. Crap performance, great result.

JBJ - seriously ?? Hooper used the ball to effect everytime he got on it ...which wasnt often , but that wasnt down to him
He also got in some vital challenges and once he done so ..used the ball well.
he was up top on his own most of the game and i think he done great at times considering
Juke
I agree with that, i feel the attacking players dont put in nearly as much effort as defence or midfield.
Keny,
Our quality of pass to the front players is rank...Hooper got one chance from a mistake and buried it.
We've huffed and puffed our way through this group
I have never been a fan of Brown and my mates give me pelters but i agree with the OP for 4 million the lack of quality is shocking sometimes i.e. mis placed simple passes and losing easy possession and a lack of goals - not value for money especially now with the likes of Wanyama who only cost 1 Million!
Nah there was a couple of times, one in particular during the second half where Sammy took the ball on a run to about 20 yards out on the left looking for a pass and Hooper just stood there in between two defenders.. Didn't even try to make a run and find space.
Everytime we went forward last night there wasn't a shred of movement which is always our best attacking feature.
I just think it's when we have any pressure on us we struggle to perform, which is why I'm looking forward to the last 16, we're gonna play with no fear and if there's nothing to lose so we'll be at our best
