Of course he won't. He may regret not signing a midfielder as well as RVP.
As well? fair enough.
Instead of, is the reality.
His life is full of regrets. Ask him about Alan Shearer or , perhaps, Massimo Taibi... there are plenty more.
Regret signing RVP, yes in the same way he must have regretted signing, rooney, ronaldo, rio etc etc.
...his comments about referees that have led to fines and bans.
Scoring goals was a problem last year, we lost the league on goal difference
As he sits with his 13th league title...i am sure he will be full of regrets
I get you're point and there is definitely some truth in it. Ferguson was a striker and will always have a soft spot for strikers.
The big problem that buying RVP seems to have caused is that it goes completely against the whole point of buying Kagawa. I'm not saying Kagawa is the better player but I think a lot of fans including myself felt the purchase of Kagawa was the first step in changing our way of play and playing Kagawa behind Rooney.
Already that whole idea seems to have been scrapped in favour of putting Rooney behind RVP with Kagawa possibly out on the left.
It makes you wonder how much thought actually goes into purchases and how a player will be utilised, or maybe RVP was just too good an opportunity not to go for in Ferguson's eyes.
So he won't regret signing RvP, rather he will regret not signing another player. Without RvP we'd be worse off than we are now.
Scoring goals wasn't our problem. Keeping clean sheets was.
had we signed Van Persie 12 months earlier we would have won the league without question.
Stupid post really
United were hours away from signing Lucas Moura, he then chose PSG. That had nothing to do with the RVP signing, it was never an either or.
The money for Lucas is still available, Fellaini for Christmas anyone ?

what our top scorer and joint top pl socrer, yeah he will be losing sleep for sure come may.
Some people don't read do they.
Scoring isn't our problem, keeping clean sheets, controlling the midfield and having more options wide are. Ferguson has not dealt with these problems.
Yes RVP is the PL top scorer but at the same time Rooney's goals have dried up.
To say we lost the league purely because of City's one goal superiority is not looking at the whole picture, we lost because City were the better team last season and in our head to heads completely dominated us in midfield and took advantage of our naivety in defence.
It won't be RVP who will give any cause for regret but blind faith that the experience of Giggs and Scholes makes up for their legs going is the more mystifying trait of such a progressively successful manager who always had the ability to move players at just the right time to keep the team ultra competitive

I did read I and get what he saying
but as some have said SAF could and should have refreshed our Defense/Midfield along with the signing of RVP, it was never a question of 1 or the other was it.
What was/is the priority though?
the Defence/Midfield and possibly Wingers but all title challenging teams should have at least 4 top strikers and that is what we have.

If RVP is the League's Top scorer, it will count for nowt should you finish second again in the Prem and fall at the first serious CL hurdle.
No doubt it helps, but like I originally said the big problem that buying RVP seems to have caused is that it goes completely against the whole point of buying Kagawa. I'm not saying Kagawa is the better player but I think a lot of fans including myself felt the purchase of Kagawa was the first step in changing our way of play and playing Kagawa behind Rooney.
Ferguson's main priority should be how the team performs, we are not performing as a team and you could argue RVP hasn't helped in that respect. He scores goals yes and is a fantastic player but would you say Rooney's game has benefited or Kagawa's?
Unless RvP is long term injured there will never be any question, or regrets, about signing this WC striker. Money was always available for the 'right' kind of midfielder or defender, but none 'worthyand dealable' were readily transferable. Always remember this is a business franchise...easy to say buy this, sell that, with someone elses money, but in the real finacial world it doesn't work that way.
Anyway all regret is is in hindsight, not in future prophecy.
United lost last years PL by a freak of time...could no way have been tighter...and the current year they are still on top...why look for reason to pull them down?
cityy dominate our old age pensioners yes but our 1st xi midfield blew man city away in the community shield should have probably finished 10-2 to man utd that game and the 2 goals was all city had.
Man utd were about to blow away man city in the fa cup then the ref doesn't give a blatant penalty to make it 4-0 or 4-1 and then city pull it back to 3-2 and it looks like they did well but reality was scholes mistake gifted there 2nd goal with a kind rebound.
Our problem is we have players that should retire playing in the biggest games, fair enough play against cluj but in big games giggsy especially should not be even in the squad.
Giggs reminds me of monty burns character, weak as a powder puff player.

The Community Shield is a glorified friendly and means nothing. While we started great in the FA Cup game but don't forget Kompany got sent off wrongly very early and they still dominated us for the majority of the game.
