If Cleverley is 75% fit, he would be a better option than a 100% fit Fletcher.

I'd rather play a natural midfielder than a CB out of position

scholes will play IMO with carrick and fletch with clevs on the bench, rooney and young either side of RVP, 3-1 city

As long as he doesnt play Welbeck on any wing then I will be reasonably happy with any line-up

Scholes will be benched, the selection last season at the council stadium will show SAF he was wrong

the selection last season at wigan didnt teach SAF any lessons when we played norwich this season, im worried

Giggs won't start I'm sure of that, he played too much against Cluj. If he was going to start them both he'd mention them in his quotes

Not necessarily but I agree I don't see Giggs starting.

I dont want Giggs on the bench, lets leave him at home.

Scholes would be a better option over Fletcher.

Too far?

whats with all the "negative waves" on here?

City arn't playing that well at the moment & they are due a defeat.

City are playing better than us.

My only negativity is with Fletcher, I don't want him to start. I would rather play Jones or Scholes in CM before Fletcher, but i think SAF is going to start him.

It's not often I bet against United, but I will be putting my money on City tomorrow. With our injuries, I just can't see us getting anything out of this game.

i dont think Fletcher is any better on the ball than Jones and from what i've seen, Jones looks fitter. Fletch doesn't have than tenacity and energy that he used to bring to the team since his return. Doesn't fill me with confidence.

10% of the squad injured?
more like 50%

So far the games Fletcher has played, he's been well of pace, his reactions are so slow and loses posession the moment he's put under pressure. If SAF plays 451, then it might be ok but if it's 442 with him and Carrick, then Utd will be in big trouble.

I want us to play 442. If we play 451, Rooney will be pushed out wide.

Fletcher has played most of his games except one or two in a 3 man midfield and most of them he's had Anderson and Cleverley in front of him who are very energetic and will get about the place and will press the opposition. All he's had to do was screen the defence and recycle possession.

I'd worry about him in a 2 man midfield against very good opposition. If he does play tomorrow, I hope it's alongside Jones and Carrick in midfield.

With the midfield options available atm, don't think it would be a good idea playing 442, especially against a midfield of City's.

City may well be a due a defeat, but football doesn't always work like that.

That said, we are due a draw, which I think is what we'll get.

451 would be OK, but Rooney on the wing is a waste.

Play him in the middle.

posted on 8/12/12

I think 451 is most likely. In which case I wouldn't be too disappointed with both Scholes and Fletch starting alongside Carrick.

i think if we manage to score more goals than city tomorrow, there is a fighting chance we might win.
