You can't really compare them can you.

You've rated Coyle with Coyles squad and Freedman with Coyles squad..

Dougie has a team currently in the promotion spots managed by Ian Holloway..

I'm happy Dougie will be a success, I just think it will take a few transfer windows..

That being said MT (and I do agree with you) it does show a definite improvement.

Although as CEF says its not dramatic I would agree itw an improvement and say it points to better tactics and training.

Given time and scope to build his team I have faith Dougie can be a real success for us.

I still hold out hope of promotion, albeit through the playoffs. Whether these players can deliver it I don't know. However I have no doubt that this manager can.

My bad I meant to say as HH says not CEF! Trying to reply to too many things at once!

I think he has done as well as he can do with the players he has. I expect a clear out over the next two windows. Beyond Eagles and Mavies I don't think anyone of our players is safe. Rightly so. He will have to generate revenue so players like Lee, Ngog, Sordell, Ream, Mills, Mears and Andrew's may not start next season.

But this is the squad of players that are good enough to get promoted. It was only the manager that was holding them back.

At least that is what over 350 comments on here were saying about 8 weeks ago!!!!!!

The squad should be banned from reading this board.
They have read this league was going to be a walk to 100 points and sat back to enjoy the ride.

I'm happy with the results, but I just get this feeling that it's more down to luck than judgement.

Obviously there is an element of both in any good result, but I particularly don't like his tinkering. It worries me. I don't think he does himself any favours by changing winning/unbeaten teams. I still don't understand why he changed the team vs Barnsley after good results vs Blackpool, Cardiff and Leicester. I thought he would've just played it safe.

I'm happy that we have put a little run together and also happy that Mavies has added goals to his game (HH would be happy!) although I expect Swansea to sign him in Jan.

the trouble at the moment is the coyle signings, who are just not good enough ,garside has to take the blame for this ,coyle should have gone when we were relegated ,most managers would walk after going down,if dougie had come in then i think we would be at top 6 club now and improving

my mate who was sat in the home end behind the dugout reckons freedman is just lennie lawrences glove puppet and lawrence is the real power behind the throne passing on tactical advice to freedman.my point is freedman cannot do any more with the tools he has available.we looked well set up yesterday looked like we would see the game out easily until mills went off and ream came on and nearly all on his own handed all 3 points to huddersfield.its players like him and other useless squad members freedman has to ship out and replace before we can move forward as a club.

I haven't got much criticism for DF, happy he has made us difficult to beat.

Need to change mentality late on and stop sitting back, it's costing us points...but that's the players as a whole who need to change, rather than DF!

Petrov, unrealistic to expect Ngog and Sordell to leave.

Won't sell at a loss when they are 21/23, plus if they went, KD would be only striker left at the club. He is running on fumes so we would need to sign 3-4 new strikers!

DF cant be really judged at this stage as others have posted he is managing another mans team.I always thought/knew we would struggle with this faceless squad, its poor lets face it.We have no quality/characters in this team,we are poor with or without possesion of the ball.
I hate saying I told you told you so but I predicted this malarky twelve months ago.We have had posts pre season about our quality,I didnt see it,as for mental posts about 100 points or championship winners, well I wasnt convinced.
Killing me watching this $h1te.

We have already made a loss on Sordell. 1 years wages for little work. That can't continue. Age is irrelevant if your not good enough.

So your happy n positive about the last twelve/18 months are you?

posted on 9/12/12

You know, I admitted that in hindsight, my 100 points prediction was a bit daft, but I made it based on our squad of players. I still relieve that at least 75% of our fans think we have a superior squad compared to other teams. It just that ours can't play together.

If we look back at the whining of the season, lots were looking forward to this season. Most - if not all - predicted some sort of success.

I am still miffed by what our targets are as a club for the rest of the season is and not knowing that makes it impossible to judge a level of success or failure.

Nuns - I am commenting on the negativity after only 8 games under DF.

I am not commenting on the last 12-18 months.

Yesterday was a great game and fantastic atmosphere. I live and breath BWFC. I stood in Exeter with 150 fans midweek. I was at Southend on Boxing Day years ago. Match days make me excited. I have the most amazing football club to support.

I will wake up next Saturday with all the enthusiasm I had in 1978, 1985, 1992, 2000, 2006 and all the years since and in between.

Frankly, we could be playing In the Conference. I have a team to support and I love the highs and the lows.

Positivity is a much better emotion and way to live life.

TRR I think if was more that we were sold a lie by the previous management team about how good our players and signings are. This was the season where our great youth products break through alongside some top signings. It just has not happened. It was a massive misjudgement by DF's predecessor.

As I have said in an earlier post no one bar Eagles and Mavies could claim they were unjustly treated if they were moved on.

Fair points pal,I too was there on such nights good n bad pal.Scarborough,York,Brentford nevermind Bury beating us all the time.
My highlights were Wrexham,Blackpool in the Sherpa,Hull away after being at Bournemouth with Benny on the tuesday.Yes I hoped n dreamed about being a good lets say div 2 team/championship as we know it,but this is now disheartening to me now after what we have achieved,we are going backwards quickly now.
Yes I will always support my home town team, but the magic/love is now starting to wain,we were given a platform and we are letting it submerge.

I'm not so sure we were sold anything by the club, Petrov.

Us, the fans, suggested we had a good team. I know I did. I certainly underestimated this league, although there aren't many 'footballing' sides. It's a lot more physical than the Premiership, even. And I think that's where we got a bit of a shock.

I read the same message week after week on the back page of the Bolton news how great we were and eventually you start to believe until the real football begins.
