dhoni is no better a captain than strauss.
he is a worse keeper than prior.
this kind of performance is fairly par for the course for england.
england to win 2-0
india humbled, england no.1

Fair ground
I have clearly congratulated England for their efforts to win this game.

Jezzer.
Dhoni is a much better captain than Strauss no doubt about it. In fact the latter should not even be held in the same breath as the former.
MSD is one of the best captains of all time and much better than Ponting, Strauss, Vaughan etc.
He should be held in the leagues of Kapil Dev, Clive Lloyd, Imran Khan, Steve Waugh.

Once in a lifetime performance for Anderson? That was his 11th Five wicket haul. Prior is behind only Gilchrist and Flower in the history of wicket keeper/batsman. And KP averages over 50 against India. Be factual or be gone.

no he shouldn't.
he can't even position his slips correctly!
he can't really keep very well either.

Red Indian, can you justify why you think Dhoni should not even be mentioned in the same breath as Strauss?
Because i think he had pretty much everything spot on in this game, other than a fielding positions. His timing of declarations were spot on.

or bat for that matter.

"Jizzer"

Has Strauss won the World Cup?
Has he won the t-20 World Cup?
Has he taken his team to the top spot in test rankings? ( He won't because England won't win this series).
Until then he won't even be in the same league as Dhoni.

he will have taken england to number 1. after this series.
2-0

so you don't deny dhoni is an average keeper and batsman?

Too add to that Dhoni is the best tactician in the World. Much better than Ponting, Strauss, Smith.
He is a better keeper than Prior.1 Bad game doesn't change the fact. He is a versatile batsman and bats in all formats od the game.
HAS STRAUSS WON THE IPL??

Equally, Cook had a bad game and might not repeat that.

And I don't see how England can be "Getting ahead of themselves". The aim was to win, and we won - emphatically. It is not just the 196 runs, but remember England declared twice.

"All in all I am pretty confident India would still walk away with the series easily despite losing the first game "

You are deluded.

Red Indian, fair play you dont half talk some muck. The IPL is Mickey Mouse stuff. This is test cricket and thus far Strauss has been the better captain. End of.

does the IPL matter in the slightest? it's a domestic competition, and therefore irrelevant.

dhoni is a worse batsman than prior. his averages show that. he only has better keeping stats because he's played for longer.

he's only won things because of the team he has (or perhaps had) to work with. tests are all that matter. odi world cup, t20 world cup don't mean diddly.

You clearly know nothing and must be under 15 years of age...
Test cricket is a big boys game.. stick to you`re T20 and 50 over tripe. Or you could make a new format of the game called 5-five. Sparkley tops are good..
You make your fans look like idiots.

No I am not.
India usually start their tour on the slower side and then gain the momentum.
As I have mentioned Dhoni is a much better captain and tactician he must have devised new methods to get the English batsmen out in no time. Watch out guys.

RedIndian I know you just enjoy pestering other fans but if could be a little cleverer and funny it would help.

Yes test cricket is big boys game and that's why I said Strauss hasn't achieved anything spectacular other than beating a poor Aussie side.
I have been around much before than many of you guys.

Red Indian what planet are you on ??

The fact that the top 3 in world cricket ie, India, South Africa & England are way ahead of the rest, why do you think that Anderson, KP, etc had 1 off games ??

Anderson has 220+ test wickets, KP 6,000 test runs at 50, Our best player over the past 12 months didn't score many runs? !ff YOUR having a laugh ?? 1-0 England !!

RedIndian.

The thing is, Dhoni has some of the most talented players to of ever graced the game at his disposal. With the Indian line up he should be blowing most teams away.

How good a captain would he be without the likes of Dravid and Tendulkar in his team?

When Ponting lost the likes of Warne people started to question his captainancy.

the australia team is not poor. they still have a great batting lineup, if lacking something in the bowling department. bowling aus out twice on 3 oocasions is no mean feat.
