look, city fans thrown coins at our players & United fans thrown bottles at there players.
Its not big & its not clever but its been going on for donkeys years & after what happened at the Council house you just know that something will happen when they come to OT.

Are you serious?
That was his first half goal - at your end.
Are you really telling me you think he shouldn't have celebrated there?
Wow - that is a whole new level.
Mmmm...that was a turgid read.
"I tend to avoid using things that haven't happened, but with you I'll make an exception; if this was roles reversed and we were discussing a City player, I'm certain you'd be offering up a different view."
That is definitely part of the problem Winston, in that people naturally defend their own clubs, as I said earlier, club allegiances need to be thrown out of the window with both of the things being discussed
I would like to think that personally if it was a City player that celebrated in front of United fans, then I would still think that they are potentially inciting a crowd and it would be irresponsible. Not unacceptable, but irresponsible. Adebayor got booked for it when he scored for us against Arsenal.
I've already made the Adebayor analogy melton, but apparently the two are completely separate issues due to the fact Adebayor ran about 80m and Rooney only ran about 10m...
Winston - no it's not Rooney's goal celebration.
Eh? It was still potentially inciting a crowd and causing a dangerous situation. Both of them were in games where there was a very tense atmosphere between that player and the fans, I'd say they absolutely are the same issue.

Yep - but only a couple of weeks on here is long enough to know who is more likely to defend their club no matter what, and who is more likely to be a bit mature about it.
You're clearly in the latter.
gratedbean (U4885)
You posted a picture of Rooney's goal celebration.
I'm sorry, but this is getting out of hand.
When players score at the end opposite end to their fans, huge numbers celebrate infront of opposition fans.
Not by cupping an ear or whatever, but just celebrate at the end they scored in.
This is only an issue now because some City fans are seeking to make excuses for the coin incidents in my view.
This is probably the most boring thread in the history of social media.
United players celebrated in front of the City fans.
Yob throws coins and hits one of them.
It happens all the time.
Get over it.
Erm no, I didn't. That's just after RVPs goal, he ran to the sideline and slid in front of our fans, right in front of where I was sat.
His first half goals were at the other end, incidently, not where I was sat.
Read the article, may be the first time the Mail actually get something accurate;
"Rooney, who had scored two goals himself earlier in the game, sprinted past his own fans before sliding on his knees and hollering at City fans before the first missile had been thrown."
Not even any point if we're arguing over a photo of something you think it isn't.

It's not - it's Rooney's goal.
RVP is running to celebrate with him, as is Cleverley.
What makes you think it's RVP's goal?

Hang on - if you want to start being cocky about it, I change the tone of this.
You're wrong, and I am prepared to be polite about it... for now

Ok he slides in front of the City fans, so does it make it right to throw stuff?? Best thing about the photo was at least 3 of them had it at 2-2 and someone even had it at 1-1 and one clown had it at 2-0.
Cleverley had been substituted by the time van Persie scored.
gratedbean
Jalisco Red has picked up on something there Welbeck replaced Cleverley in the 88th min, were you really there then?
comment by gratedbean (U4885)
------------------
Are you sure you went to the game? Cleverley was taken off for Welbeck, Welbeck robbed Clichy and passed to Rafa who was then fouled by Tevez. Van Persie scores the free kick, how did Cleverley get back on the pitch to celebrate?

Its bad when your as accurate as the Daily Mail
Jalisco Red spoiled my fun!
But I see gratedbean hasn't been back to the thread since he realised that he was wrong.
It's a shame when people can't just hold their hands up, particularly after being so bullish.
Winston
I mentioned it to him on another thread on Sat, he did say he would hold his hand up to it, maybe he still too embarrassed to come back and do so as he was sooooo sure of where he was sat when Rooney slid in front of him after RVP scored
"Not even any point if we're arguing over a photo of something you think it isn't."
Maybe he took his own advice?
