Time, money and transfers
He is going to need time, but personally I am willing to give it to him, because he has us going in the right direction. That and I just seem to like him.
RAP, agree. The vital ingredient in any role is experience. BR is very inexperienced and he needs to be given the necessary time to gain that experience.
Great teams. My biggest fear was that we would be very one-dimensional and therefore totally predictable. But as you say he has shown on a few occasions that he's not afraid to change the shape and make adjustments that really make a positive difference.

Kaiser's, transfers is an interesting one. I love BR's philosophy but a huge part of the managerial role is identifying and recruiting top talent who can really make a difference. They don't have to be top players. It doesn't even have to be the manager who finds them, hopefully we have the next Geoff Twentyman in the background who can unearth some gems. But BR needs to create the system that will make it happen. What are the signs that he can do this?
I thought you might say that
For me what separates the good managers from the great is the ability to change things for the better and win games, be it mid-game or pre-game. He demonstrates this a lot and with the options available to him, this is fantastic. The next step is winning trophies but we have a long way to go for that. Brendan needs funds as he's proved he knows how to take us there.
problem is that without CL, we're well down in the queue for being a players first choice.
Has to be foreign IMO
As sad as it is, we have to target mid market wth potential or wait and see who doesn't get snapped up by the 10 or so 'big clubs' ahead of us right now.
but Brendans proved nothing... and you're still 10th...
lets see how you react when Liverpool don't get 4th.....

back Rodgers and hope the owners get the chequebook out.

I expect eighth, I hope for sixth.
I expect 7th and hope for anywhere higher than that.
As for convincing the OP that Rodgers is a great manager, there is nothing I can say to convince you of that. I am not sure he is a great manager (he might be) but its too early to say either way at this stage.
If he has the right backing, he doesn't have to be a great manager, a good one will get us back in the top 4 in time with the resources we have in the squad and the great work of the academy at the moment.

Most fans don't expect 4th this season. The majority of fans are patient and are hopeful (and increasingly confident) that we can set our targets higher in the seasons ahead.
RAP, I hope the January window isn't too quiet!! We need to address the striker issue urgently. We need to keep upward momentum throughout the season so that we can attract higher calibre players.

F.Luck that sh!,t.
I would be extremely disappointed with an 8th place finish, and 6th would be the minimum I would be happy with.
Im sorry, but a team with a spine of Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Johnson, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Suarez, and the emerging talent of players like Shelvey, Kelly, Sterling, Wisdom, Suso, and even the improving Henderson, with a couple of additions should be doing better than 8th in this league.
