My team anyway

Hafeez
Jamshed
Azhar
Younis
Misbah
Akmal
Akmal
xxxxxxxx
Ajmal
Gul
Junaid

We are going to get hammered. Same old slow paced middle order, that will collapse to pressure as always. No match winners. After all Afridi/Razzaq were match winners. If you're not going to have them in as allrounders, why not blood a young allrounder in Hammad Azam?

Really dissapointed.

Agree with you robin. Our selectors need to get a dose of reality, sticking with the old guard for the sake of it is useless. Younis khan has done wonderfully well over the years got Pakistan, but his recent performances and overall ODI average is shocking.... If hd can't see the sense to retire, the selectors should give him a nudge and tell him his times up.

Asad shafiq would have been in, but is injured. Also wtf is fawad alam gone??

Can anybody tell why isn't Raza Hasan there in the squad?

Raza is injured, so is shafiq.

What's wrong with Yousuf? Quality batsman. Far more reliable than Misbah or Malik.

But Yusuf at 50> Malik at 25.Marriage has taken toll on him.

Tu Meke,
I agree the guy is pure class – but his time is up. We’ve got younis and misbah to provide the experience and they’ve fitted Azhar and Asad well into this set up, lets look to youth and do away with the has-beens.

We’ve got a decent mix in our squad, and if junaid performs consistently and we somehow find another quickie, we aren’t far from being the 3rd best team in all formats of the game, just behind the saffers and the englandos.

Of course, kash will tell us all that Malik is young and has a lot to offer the Pakistan team, but most of us just don’t buy it kash, so save it

Aren't you guys excited about Anwar Ali, I still can't get over his bowling spell against India in that U-19 final.

Hope he lives to the expectations, and destroy their senior lot this time!

I have never promoted Malik as an option. I do agree that Jamshed could be a test player very soon if he continues his progression and will hopefully replace Taufeeq Umar very soon.

We do need to find another quickie cos Gul cannot be relied on especially in test's and we need look beyond Sohail Tanvir.

Anyone seen Amir lately?

Not seen much of Anwar Ali, will be interesting to see how some of these youngsters cope with the indian series.
Agree about jamshed, although if he’s thrown in vs saffers in a couple of months, he’ll struggle.
Not heard from Amir since pakistans exit from the T20s in Lanka, didn’t he say he was going to pak for a bit, as he had finished his studies?

What's that got to do with Yusuf?

posted on 11/12/12

I remember reading something about Anwar Ali where Waqar criticised the coaches for ruining his development. At U19 level he was the next Waqar but since then that talent has been coached out of him. Not sure how good he is now.

Lol against SA I expect Steyn and Philander to get Hafeez and Umar out with their first over.

he must have gone back home to get married or hes in search for Imran Farhat's father in lae

It's a fact of life that you get old, your eye sight goes and your reactions are slower. Moyo is 38. He will struggle big time.

Misbah is 38 too though. And Yusuf has always been better than him.

One bad series and Misbah's days will be numbered

Misbah's been pretty bad every time I've seen him lately tbf.

posted on 11/12/12

It’d be stupidty if they were to get rid of misbah now. Lets wait 12 months before that happens (especially in tests). Azhar, Junaid and asad are relatively new, Jamshed will also be finding his feet. Hafeez, Taufeeq, Malik, and the akmals are hardly reliable, so we need a couple of the oldies to hang-fire for a bit.

Is anyone watching the Bradford arsenal game? Kash is the fan behind the Arsenal goal with the big tash and Rana-naved like hairstyle. Anyone see him take out his paratha at half-time?

Bet he visits Leeds road fisheries if the bradfordians win this to celebrate

posted on 12/12/12

You wont see me dead at Valley Parade. Afridi you must be over the moon that your home town club won that game? We all know that you are from Bradistan but say Leeds to act a little Posh.

No need for that.....

Meanwhile, the indians have bowled 32 maiden overs today, what a bloody acheievement that is for them. is that some kind of a record? Sharma the "Great"
