not all 1 v 1s are simple, its actually much better with a 2 versus 2 or a 3 VERSUS 3
unless one of your three is Torres
I watched it, as he was the LB as soon as he lost it there was no one behind him to cover at LB so West Ham taking advantage of that space would be a lot more effective and easier than if there was someone behind him like a DM losing the ball. With more inter-play need by the opposition that increases the chances of them messing it up as well. DM is not a wise position to lose it at I agree, but I will definitely not say it's equally worse than losing it at DM. That's just from logic and me personally playing the game in those positions recently, not in 1969.
*cb *needed *chance
Left myself open for one of your Playstation insult.
Using my phone, not bothered
Just as must chance of a 1 vs 1 getting messed up as a 3 v3 that requires a bit more inter play
1v1 you just have to worry about stopping the guy in front of you, with more players you have to worry about stopping the guy and the pass he might try and make
Again.........not something your playstaion can teach you
BRA, can you not debate without trying to sound like an arrogant to$ser? It's opinions not a fact, doesn't make you right as much as it doesn't make anyone else right
Frankie...............sometimes I can, and sometimes I choose not to, it depends on my mood, but the reality is i could not give a feck what you or anyone else thinks
I see whats going on, You most likely are trying to compensate for something so you here on an internet forum being a Mr know it all
Hmmm almost 02:45 here, Goodnight hopefully when you wake up you'll grow up abit
Thankyou for that analysis, but it really does count for feck all.
Apparently if you give the ball away in the opposition's box, its equally dangerous to giving the ball away in your box.

Throwing my 2 pence in
I play Saturday football regulary and I can definetly say that its more dangerous to lose concentration and the ball being a defender than it is if you are a midfielder. The higher up the pitch you are positioned, the more likely you are to have guys covering you from behind
We are talking about a DM playing in front of the back 4, not any type of midfield player and from your posr it feels like you are talking form the perspective of an individual player rather than the perspective an resulting impact on the team
Sorry I haven't read the whole article.
Anyway, even as a DM its still likely to be less consequental. Granted losing the ball in that position is still risky and can drag your defenders out of position, but the opposition also need to think quick on how to get past the last line of defense.
Lose the ball as a CB and you really aint going to have no one to protect you other than hoping your goalkeeper saves you.
It will depends where you are as CB at the time you lose the ball, if you lose the ball and as a result it puts the oppo player in on the GK then yes of course it does, but if the mistake results in an oppo player one on one with another defender I do not necessarily think that is more dangerous because the focus of the defender is 100% on stopping the player not worrying about others oppo players coming into the fray..
Yes you are correct but at the end of the day, the consequences are likely to be greater losing the ball as a CB than as a DM.
Thats my 2 pence, cents or whatever.
could it be that Rafa has spotted what I & others have said a while ago...that Luiz is wasted in CB....
Finally a manager has spotted his footballing skill...jeez he's even got Torres scoring again.....can it be Roman has appointed someone useful....
Or Torres could be putting the effort in again?
I knew Rafa would change things around. He obviously had a plan to fix the flaws that we had under Di Matteo and I suspect that's what got him the job. Sort the defensive frailties out, Get Torres scoring under a different system, get the team to attack with organisation, get them to defend in an organised fashion. I'd still give it 5 or so more games till I can fully give credit to Benitez but at the moment its looking good for him and us.
Sheriff I have always said Luiz is worth a punt at DM, but I remain uncertain how it will work out because as I said in the article his problem is more mental than physical or about talent.
Also sorry to take the gloss from Rafa, but this change has been forced on him and until it has been tested for 5 or 6 games in the PL I can't get as excited as others about Luiz at DM.
Was it really enforced Biggish? We did have Lampard on the bench didnt we? He could have played in the midfield two as well?
he is a liability , this will cease when he fully concentrates.
I've noticed a few people talking about Luiz at DM.
The thing is that Luiz wasn't playing at DM yesterday, Mikel was.
Luiz was playing as the more attacking player in the midfield 2 which is why he was directly replaced by Lampard at about 65 minutes.
