With you all the way, no good would come from a management change. It's not as if we are playing crap football, we just need to get one of the numerous strikers to start striking. There is always the January transfer window.

We could end up playing, fowls, blunts, donny, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Scunny and may be Bradford, few local teams there

Just laughed out loud at the thought of a commentator on the FL show saying Now for highlights of League one giants Barnsley FC.

Were not down yet and I hope we do all we can to try and keep ourselves up. I would rather go down fighting.

With a few exceptions it's a haven of sanity on this board. Just had another brief look at the BBS, some of the stuff on there is surreal, one joker listed 73 managers to replace Hill, this included, for example, Kenny Dalglish.

The Hassell related stuff is pretty mad as well, fantasists, I'm afraid.

Ezio, you are right, we are not down yet, though I recognise we're in a bit of a hole we need to keep fighting.

We have become quite expert at surviving, continuity is the key, and we should keep Hill if for no better reason than the 3 or 4 hundred thousand it would cost to get rid should go on players.

And which decent manager would risk taking the job on, I doubt many will need the money!

I think it is important to point out that the Chronicle has stitched Keith Hill up a bit.

There were murmurs around Oakwell that based upon this piece the fans don't think he cares. He does, he cares about the club, fans and Patrick Cryne, and based on that I am going to give him an extension.

We are faced with many problems at this club. The list is endless; no bargaining power in the transfer market and contract negotiation, no money for transfers or wages, and now sustainable way of improving the clubs financial position.

I made a list of what I thought to be realistic candidates of managers including; Owen Coyle, Gareth Southgate, and Gary Madine, but even these are probably way above our resources.

I still think KH should be in charge, but there are several things that need adressing;

1) Get a centre back! Bang on Crynes door and say the club needs a 6ft2+ powerful CB, I know we are short on funds but the club will be relegated without one.

2) Stop Tinkering! KH seems to change the team every week and we have fielded 29 players this season. There is no chance we will develop consistency with all these changes.

3) Take a serious look at offloading some players. We have too many players at the club, particularly in midfield, especially with all the loan signings.

We're not down yet but the prognosis isn't good as we've earned a total of 36 points in the last 23 games (18 pts) of last season and the first 22 of this (18 pts). That's almost a full season and not anywhere near good enough to stay in this league.

It's also the case that clubs that flirt with relegation for a few seasons usually end up getting relegated, Coventry, Donny, Southend to name just a few.

I hope we can find a way to win games and stay in the Championship but in some respects it might be better to be doing well in League 1 than experiencing this painful struggle week in week out.

Whatever happens, can't see any point in changing the manager and wouldn't mind if the Board made a statement to this effect early in the New Year.

What makes all you "sleepwalking to League one under Hill" fans think he wil do any better next season.

Uboat. What does it take to get through to you, Barnsley like most of the country have got to cut down on spending we are in hard times. Now if you want your team to be in the top flight get an £8million loan out and buy the club simple as that.
You could sack Mr Hill and buy all the top players you want, I think Liverpool only made a loss of £192 million last season by the way.
It’s easy to expect PC to keep spending, he as done enough for the club, he can’t keep doing it
A few teams in our division will be looking at admin in the next few months and thanks to the way our club is run we will not be one of them.
We may or may not go down but we will still have a club.

What makes you think someone can do better?

What seems bizarre to me, is that people seem to be accepting that we're down, yet still have this 'who could do any better' mentality. Very strange.

Surely we should only be sticking with the manager if we think he can keep us up??

Surely if you think we'll go down, we have to at least try something different?

One thing's for sure. If we do go down, I won't be renewing my ST.

I will - UP THE REDS!

I'll renew regardless but am not sure we will go down there's only GD in it at moment keep the faith

I had a ticket for the Wednesday match. But I slipped on the ice on Black Friday and broke my wrist. So after my holiday in Australia I had to watch it on telly. Who played the best football? It was really bad luck.

No point in sacking Keith Hill even though he says some silly things.
