Yep, awful conditions, just speaking to my mate who is on the way home now, they sounded much worse than they looked on TV.

If only Diaby and Rosicky could stay fit, we'd actually be a half decent team

I don't want to be a downer, but that result was entirely down to the lack of potency from Wigan. a better team would've stuck at least 3 past us today.

But we won

And of course another clean sheet is very welcome

i was fuming at that yellow... at least the ref attoned in the second half and didn't allow wigan to kick and push in midfield as he did in the first

This is an underrated result, the important thing is we are developing a winning run, each win gives us more confidence and belief.

Crouch end

Wigan players blatantly got him booked, don't like to see that in any game. Was a fair committee challenge.

Wigan are a good side, they'll stay up again easily.

Sorry pkh, but we were rubbish. Except for the opening 10 minutes of the first half and opening 15 in the second half, Wigan were better than us for most of the game. And were it not for a dreadful final ball and crossing from the likes of Beausejour, Maloney and Stam, I think we would have lost by quite a few goals.

Slightly better second half, but Wigan still dominated midfield and worked like terriers. They played well, but they are not consistent enough. What impressed me about Wigan was that even with getting stuck in and all their attackers getting back in the half to defend, they played some good, direct football and the team worked hard for each other. They moved up and down the field collectively and it worked. We were sloppy in possession and our midfield lacked cohesion, but Wigan exploited that and on another day, it would have been a different result.

I just hope Wenger still intends to buy in January. Three league wins in a row is gratifying, but we need to build on it and we need better players to rotate with.

It was not just a fair challenge, was a great challenge. Really frustrating to see him get punished for it

And after the yellow they were desperate to see him sent off

The good thing is he didnt fall for it and carried on playing well... will have a few bruises tomorrow though

Havent seen one of our players targeted like that since the neville brothers bummed Reyes!

Harsh man, very harsh. As I said, it weren't going for us on the ball but off it everyone was committed and dug out a result which we have been slagged off for not doing time and time again. You should see this as a positive.

Am I the only one who didn't think we were that bad? Ok, we weren't as good as Monday, but we didn't need to be. Wigan never looked like scoring and in the last twenty minutes we sat back after getting the lead. Yes, they could've had a penalty, but I don't think they outplayed us as I've seen some suggest.

Perhaps i've been watching a different game to everyone else.

Wilshere did not play well today. Wigan didn't let him.

Wigan play the best football in bottom half of table easily. Their all round game is excellent. Just need a good striker.

As for us wins like this are better than the ones vs Reading simply because it shows character of the team.

i think you were watching different game my friend. if wigan were more potent up front we would have been in trouble, simple as that.

if you look at the individual quality players we have in midfield you would realize that our current midfield is not balanced as wigan easily matched it.

i wish people really new something about footie.

But he was the only one in midfield who was fighting. I am pretty pleased with him today.

3 points is all that matters, couldn't care less about anything else. all away games can be tough it's all about the result.

I think your looking at this wrongly mate. A cold wet winters afternoon up at Wigan and we have beaten them. We have been slated by pundits and rival fans because we usually bottle days like this. For once we held on, we can't smash teams every week. I think you need to get real.

Cant really remember many Wigan chances apart from Kone 1v1. They only got so many shots against us a the fig had about 4 blast that went miles wide.

just not impressed are entertained in the way we play with this current Arsenal team. yep, good result and hopefully we will get 4th again.

Got the 3pts, every gooner should relax and be content with that.

Jona,

I do think we can play better and I definitely believe that this team needs some more extra players but i'm not going to go mental because we didn't have 90% possession, 28 shots on goal, and win 10 nil.

Wigan are a decent side. Let's be happy we won and not crucify the team for a decent result.
