He had a side built around him at Liverpool. But as they lost their good players, he turned crap too.

RvP had a side built around him at Arsenal and he was fantastic. The United side isn't really built around him though, but he's still amazing. It's why I admire him, his ability shines through no matter what.

And how many years ago is it since he was good for Liverpool? Yeah RVP adapts because he's a special striker. Torres cannot as he isn't.

Since they lost their top players in midfield. Thats what I'm saying, the team was always built around him, but when they lost their quality, his performances dropped too. He had injuries aswell, before he left for Chelsea.

Now we're seeing what he's like when all the play isn't though him.

RvP has always been better than Torres, tbf, and I was laughed at when I said this even when he was injured all the time. But now we're seeing it's true.

Lukaku is better than Sturridge. I do think Sturridge is talented, but his attitude and style of play hinders him.

at their peak i would take Torres over RVP. the reason RVP is shining in UTD is because united play the better version of what RVP was used to with more quality around him then at Arsenal. While Torres came to a team built for Drog....

You cannot blame them losing players for him being average. He was still poor for Spain as well even with an amazing supply line.

Really top players adapt if they don't have anything played through them. Torres has never been able to do this. And he's not good enough anymore to have a side built around him.

He's lost it. Always thought he was masively overhyped anyway. For the reasons I stated. Even at his best he was still not that great for Spain and was never the best striker in the world.

Nah, RvP is shining at United because he's top class, and they simply get the ball in the box more.

Arsenal didn't really get the ball in the box much, but basically every chance was for him.

True, but he can learn how to do those simple things. You can't learn how to do those special things. It's just a matter of patience with him, I think

I'm not saying Torres is a top player DTKF. I'm actually saying the opposite.

I'm saying he needs the team built around him to be truly effective, I don't think that means he is a top player. I think you can get any striker with decent skill on the ball and a good finish, and make him look world class by building the side around him.

I think Torres would show his liverpool form if this did happen though. That's where we disagree

United use RVP in a different way to what Arsenal did. The reason he's shining is because he's world class.

I'd argue that his overrall performances are not what they were at Arsenal as he's not seeing anywhere near as much of the ball. His strike rate though is fantastic.

I'd like to see us play through RVP a lot more than we are. He's got so much more to show. We play too much through Rooney and Valencia even though RVP is a much better player than both of them.

Ok I get you. I don't think he'd show his Liverpool days though if they did that. I just think he's lost it, personally. And I'm sure Chelsea will get rid soon.

His performances weren't particularly great in his last season at Arsenal either. But when he had the ball he would either get the assist, score the goal. But mostly he would misplace a pass. His build up play was quite crap tbh.

I think you have a great balance up top tbh, with Robin and Rooney. If you can sort out hat's going on behind them (wing-play and defending), you'd be a force to be reckoned with.

Stewart downing just got his first PL assist

Yeah I know what you mean. But he had a lot more class performances as you played through him a lot more. He's still adjusting.

Rooney needs to stop playing in midfield and play closer to RVP. They've shown glimpses of a quality partnership, but only glimpses. Rooney doesn't pass it enough to him for me. His first thought is to play it wide, it's really frustrating. We need to find that balance before Real, hopefully we will.
