Glad to see 3 points today from a tricky game.
Not suprised to see under 3000 there.
If as i'm told the away end wa 3/4 full then only just over 2400 home fans.
Attendances of 6000,5000 & a few of 4000 in the conference today.
Maybe more like me fed up of paying to watch hoof ball.
Performances havent been good and on another day the point gained at Chesterfield could have been a drubbing.
Showed at Barnet how bad we can be.
3 defeats against teams in the bottom 2 over the last few weeks.
Good that you said we played well but we are too inconsistant.
We need to carry this on to saturday were again it will be tough.
Then we will see how good we are.
Ah Pez! I remember you from CTMD. You were the one calling for a protest outside the Pirelli not long after Rowett took over. Something along the lines of "sack the board" wasn't it?
Stick to supporting Mansfield "my friend" because I know for a fact that's where your allegiances lie.
Dark, damp and cold on the terraces but much to warm the cockles on the pitch.
Lots of chances with Billy looking the real deal again - cracking free kick, exquisite flick to set up Calvin and bravely bundling in the eventual winner.
Stunning double (treble?) save from Lyness early on, worth a goal by itself.
Jacques seems to have taken on board the instructions to run at defenders and looked a handful.
Lee Bell picking up all of the loose stuff, ably abetted by Jack Dyer.
Stanno was mis-matched in size against Adebola but kept him at bay (though what was he thinking of with 'that' back pass - the entire Pop side could see the Dale player and were screaming for a clearance!)
They didn't look a bad side, some good passing and movement, and they never gave up, which makes our performance and win even better in my eyes.
Well done guys, some more of the same on Saturday please (and a chance at some stage for Matt Paterson to put one over the club that let him go?)
I hope we are not going to start and slate threaders opinions on this site and drag ourselves down to the gutter.Pez has got his own opinions and sometimes i dont agree with what he says but thats how he feels and i respect that.Anyway i thought we would win this game and we did.Ok only just but i thought it was a good boxing day game with some good performances. The midfield were superb,Weir was tremendous, where does he get his energy from the mans a machine, brave as a lion and must be a nightmare to play agianst. We had some luck but its another 3 points, lets keep marching on together no matter what our opinions.
Was very impressed by the whole squad! Thought we looked like a good battling team, who out fought and out gunned a very physical Rochdale team.
My MOTM was Dean Lyness, thought he was simply outstanding, not far behind Zola and Billy and Belly and Dyer and, and, and.......................they were all good!!
Southend will be another tough egg to crack but at home with a largish crowd believe we can do it.
For Steve 1210 - Paterson I believe is desperate to play a role on Saturday against Southend - there's more to his time there than meets the eye and he is desperate to get another 3 points against Sturrock!! Fingers crossed he'll come on with 10 to go and pop in the winner!!
Agree with everything you've said DerbyYellow, a super Boxing Day fixture and a good performance by the whole team!
Dean Lyness was outstanding he kept us in the game at moments and his double save in the first half supported by our crossbar was a joy to see as we held firm.
A game like this you look back and it tells you we are a decent league 2 side, many would have lost to Rochdale given their overall physical pressure.
For the attendance it was a pleasure to see us pushing 3000 given that Rochdale had approx 5/600 fans.
Brewer1 my friend,You obviously dont know me.
I'm one of those poor soles that last season suffered most of the 17 games without a win both home and away.
I will always be a Brewer but nothing states i can't watch other teams.
The CTMD comment was echoed by loads when he finally got the job.
We are all entitled to our comments and yes i may go to Mansfield ,i may go to Old trafford but i always look what the Brewers are doing.
Travelled a lot of miles from some distant places to watch the Brewers so please dont try and tell me were to watch my football.
Just for the record i was at Mansfield yesterday.
Will be at Leicester v Brewers in the cup then at Mansfield V Liverpool. Why because i like watching football.Sadly the brewers havent played much this season.
Read the threads my friend and see how many complain about the hoofball tactics.
You may be suprised.
A Brewer i will always be.
