Speaking out against the real issues is defending our shores it is defending the principles of the clubs and speaking against the board who are dragging us slowly but surely down the table...

Believing in a lost cause one could argue is actually more damaging to our club in one sense...

It was a generalisation taggs to make a point...., dont take it to heart.

Tell me suarez 7, how CAN you make a reasonable judgement on a team and new manager when last season the team finished 8th under a different manager?

BR has bought Allen, Borini, Assaidi; Bornin has been injured while Assaidi is injured and Allen has only recently had his form dipped.

Yoiu think 19 games is enough do you? Pleaseee..

Whether they've been in the Championship recently or not, it matters not. Enrique, for example, is a great player. It doesn't matter whether or not he was in the Championship a couple of years ago.

When United bought Chris Smalling, he was recently playing in the ISTHMIAN LEAGUE. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter what league players have played in if they have shown promise enough for our club to be interested in them.

One or 2 players with promise maby could ajust buying them all from that level is never going to get us in top four.

The manager has had little backing from the board and we are going to go into Jan and sign more young players so results like this will continue.

If you read all my posts they state that we are declining slowly year on year...

This is another year where we will again decline. You are quick to point out to me that it is only 19 games well sadly its not its 3 seasons and 19 games now and every year we are out it is harder to get back in.

And you have not answered my question how are we going to all of a sudden surpass Arsenal and Spurs with our current transfer policy..?

We are becoming a team made in FSG's image. The whole operation is run on economy and we are now an economy team and the lack of ambition all round is there for all to see.

Incidentally FSG's other sporting interest the red sox are currently bottom of the league. I can't see FSG doing what is necessary to bring back success to Liverpool.

Tell me which CL clubs buy all their players from clubs at the bottom of the league? NONE! We cant keep taking a chance on kids on the cheap! We need some experience.

What about the typically class players we have attracted from sterling clubs? Nuri Sahin, for example. Recently won Player of the Season at Dortmund then joined the Galacticos. Now he can't get a game at Liverpool because Championship Allen keeps him out of the team...

posted on 26/12/12

Sahin looks average, he is being kept out of the team by a slightly above average Joe Allen.

They do not care as long as the "franchise" is making money off the field...

We can generate a lot of money, but it needs to be re-invested. FSG should not be looking at taking money out of the club for a good few years.

Listen guys, i hear all the concerns and tbh most are quite valid, i just think everyone is missing the point a bit. BR was brought in to oversee a change at Anfield, for 3yrs we were declining and it was getting worse.

BR started of having to trim the wage bill, then he lowered the average age, then he has to bring youth through and then he has to replace players. He IS in his first season at the club and geting a feel for it.

IMO, you can only really start to judge how BR is doing until next season, even Allen and the Broinis you cant judge yet really. Next season, for me all BR has to do is get us close to 4th then next season we can really start to kick on because he will know who he wants in his team and who he doesnt.

We dont like games like tonight, but they ALWAYS happen when a new manager comes in and changes the way the team plays. Inconsistency is part of a new regime,it happened under Houllier,it happened under Rafa and it happened under Kenny.

Oh, btw....Baines, Bale and many more were bought from outside the prem; thats not a problem

The reason we won't finish 4th is due to the lacklustre squad we have.

Look at our sub bench today. 1 attacking player (Sterling) and he's not even a striker. Fergie and Jose have both claimed you can't win anything without 4 strikers in your squad. We have one.

Henderson - average
Skrtel - Liability
Shelvey - Championship player
Downing - pub team player (apart from last week when he was the best player in the world)
Joe Cole - my 2 year old son can play better than him
Allen - Crab
Gerrard - Hollywood
Enrique - headless chicken
Carroll -

This is my honest assessment of our squad. I've watched teams full of winners and the only name above that Is a winner is Gerrard and he is to old now.

Anyway happy Xmas all I'm rocking around the Xmas tree tonight

You cannot have a championship manager to manage an EPL club fighting for fourth. A manager who cannot see that Ngog is better than Andy Carrot that is not a LFC manager!!

I don't blame Rodgers I feel more along the lines of the board are not going to help him get out the mess.

Bale was not brought in alongside 6 other players from either the Championship or bottom end of the PL at the same time though which is the difference...

One or two to progress from that level is ok but 7...???

Come on how on earth are 7 players at that kind of level going to take the team onwards and upwards? It is asking for trouble....

posted on 27/12/12

And more to the point how can a squad mixed with 7 players from that level and other first team regulars who are 20 or below really do it?

Even the year Alan Hanson famously said Manchester United could not win the league with kids they still had a number of first team regulars who were established players round the age of 30. It is a strategy that is failing and will continue to do so and if the young players eventually get good enough it will be like Arsenal where they want to leave because their is only ever 1 or 2 top top players the rest are "potential players" it does not work!!!

posted on 27/12/12

You shouldn't have ruled out 4th, this is a really poor Premier League, anyone can get it.

But surely no right minded Liverpool Fan actually expected it.

Rodgers was an appalling appointment, and the squad is dire. Add into the mixture owners with no intention of spending 'big boy's' money, and mid table it is

i really don't understand all the negativity. before the villa game we beet west ham away and LOADS of people were saying top four is a genuine possibility, including me. yes the villa result was very poor especially considering they've conceded 12 in two games since then. however, especially bad performances have been few and far between this season. the end of last season, we were playing abysmal football and getting equally bad results. we then followed that with a 4-0 win over fulham and everyone thought we were back on track.

now stoke away is always a difficult fixture. unfortunately we lost but there's no shame in that when they've beaten many a good side at home in the last few years. suddenly its a crisis. i don't get it.

have patience. rodgers knows what he is doing. with a few transfer windows he can get rid of the dross and bring in some decent players who fit into the style of play he is looking for. i have every confidence that eventually this will work and that next year we'll see a proper top four push under rodgers.

what would be the point in sacking him. we'd be back to square 1 and wasted two seasons with kenny and brendan and a heck of a lot of money. would be madness!
