That's because you have had to choke on many bitter pills.

Worrying that Trig as you refer gets one up on you so many times. Does that make you dumb or dumber?

ONE bitter pill, and we all choked on that except you.

Oh no many more than that. Anyway your are stirring to argue so I will save you the embarrassment and not reply to anymore of your posts. Hope you had a good Christmas CEF and that business is going well as it must be tough starting up on your own.

PS please don't peddle the notion I enjoyed relegation. I didn't.

Merry Christmas MT. Hope your lad had a great day and you all avoided the Winter bug!

Hi pal,

Hope Christmas was good...?

For what it's worth, I've got 2 statements to make, footy related..

Tyrone Mears is on the Road to getting some consistency in his game... With that, fans should be able to hold a balanced view.

I wanted SKD out full stop.. I'm now of the opinion he has a place in our first 11 at the moment.. His attitude and passion for our team are making him more valued than OB1 or Sordell...

Hi Petrov

Yeah, lad did very well thanks fella... I've avoided the winter bug so far but I usually have them 1st week in December!!

Drank the least, eaten the least and worked the most in a Christmas for years.... And I actually feel great...

Hate New Year, not interested in that guff!!!!

Hope yours was good...!?

Family had the bug so not as good. Not keen on new year either but at least I don't feel like 'I am Legend' anymore.

Glad you all had a good one. Maybe working Christmas is the answer!

Deffo...

Had my do on the 15th in Manchester and a night in F4nnies this week... Saw Diouf in....

The rest has been sensible and relaxing..

Yeh mate, Christmas was good thanks.

Good point about Mears. The majority do hold a balanced view on him tbh.

As for SKD, it is more complicated. The fact he is and deserves to be playing is an indictment of our other strikers. Ngog is picking up too many niggles so can't get a run. Sordell ????????

He can't go on for ever though, and he isn't the player he was. A decent striker in Jan should be the beginning of the end for him.

Agreed about SKD fella.... But the guy is running himself into the ground... Collects his wages, but earns them!! As said, he should be a bench warmer, 10 games a season and getting his coaching badges....

I might not think he has the best of games, but the days of coming on here and insulting him are a thing of the past....

606 WARNING - USER ADMITS HE WAS WRONG!!!!!!

JUST A NON RELEVANT COMMENT TO SOMEONE SADLY NOT ON HERE ANYMORE, BUT MAYBE READING...

All the very best to Florida Claret, hope you had a great Christmas and best wishes to your family and 2013....

We had some great wars, but I grew to respect you.. With no OC anymore, our clubs can like each other again!!!!

Regards

I never said Mears had been playing well all season, i couldnt possibly claim that when i havent watched every game.

However, whenever he has played and i have seen him, he has been 'solid'. That doesnt mean good, brilliant, star performer etc, it just means he has done his job sufficiently. That is based on how few goals have come from his poor positioning or his side etc. Its the constant changing and no relationship between out centre backs that is the issue in the goals conceded for me.

Our best pairing last season was Wheater and Ream, only 15 goals conceded in the they started together 12 games.

Also, my comments re: certain players being praised for little and criticised for little depending on their status in the club is so correct..

Mears cross for the goal has been belittled to be said it was made to look better by Alonso.

Whereas Davies complimented for giving the ball away 10 times, but supplying a 3 yard pass which was insignificant compared to the individual nature of the goal by CYL.

Just interesting to see how things are perceived.

Anyway, i am not wumming. Mears, for me, has performed solidly in defence, not so much going forward in all the games ive seen him in this season. If he gives the ball away occasionally, but nullifies the attack down the left hand side for the 90 minutes, then thats ok with me, the same way its 'fantastic' that Davies gives the ball away constantly but plays the sqaure ball for CYL to burst through the defence.

P.s Davies is a horrendous footballer in the fact that he has a poor first touch, no pace, no striking instinct, no off the ball movement. Of course, in what he does, he is fantastic, rustling up the opponents, trying to take the focus away from the more attacking players. But he has lost his edge, and we havent got the skillful players around him anymore like in 06 to build a team round him. It was different when we had Okocha, Anelka and Speed...now we have Eagles, Pratley and Andrews.

Too often he is a passenger, and gives it away far far too often for my liking. Now of course this is due to his age now, but i can guarantee, if a 19 year old was brought through with these attributes, he wouldnt make it in this era which is becoming more focused on actual ability, rather than physical attributes.

The praise for Davies is based on the fact he is a 'club legend'. If he was a brand new signing, he wouldnt be receiving the praise he is...people arent being objective enough in the appraisal of Davies. The fact he misplaces nearly 1 in 2 passes he makes (56% pass success rate) stops him from being 'fantastic' imo.

I would say that Alonso, Ream, Mears, Spearing, CYL and Pratley are most deserving of the praise for the recent win. Solid in defence, dominant in midfield, and suppressing any attack from Brum.

posted on 31/12/12

Wow, six outfield players all deserving of the most praise following the recent win, and the man of the match is one of the four that isn't. And you think others aren't being objective.

Anyway, we obviously see very different things when sat watch the same game. Thanks for clarifying about the WUMming. All the best for 2013.

This is where your whole argument falls down. On another thread you say Ngog is superb.

If you want to talk about football. Van Persie is superb. SKD is his prime was good. Ngog has never been anything but average in his whole career. Football and being a footballer is about doing the job you are asked. Tricks and flicks have a place but if that's all you have then you will never make it as a footballer. That's for beach football. If you think SKD would not make it as a footballer today then ask BSA and I bet he will tell you differently and he knows far more about it than you.

Funny that, because I've just read a comment from Holden's Hairstylist (which is a bit of a suspect moniker if you ask me) on another thread and thought "Wow! Why has Gartside wasted all that time and effort recruiting managers, when we appear to have the answer to all our problems right here. HH obviously "knows" far more about how to be a successful football than anybody else, so just put him in charge......."
