i do believe city have an equally capable strike force upfront and mancini is just trying to get into his head.
Best striker in the world.
Second best striker in manchester
RVP turned the money down at city because he wanted to play for a big club with a glorious history like Manchester United. The title is coming back to OT.

I think they have a better strike force.
Aguero, Tevez are established stars.
Dzeko is underrated. Excellent in the air. Holds ball up well and has a great left foot and has delivered every time he has been called upon.
Balotelli is the worst of the lot but its more an attitude issue than a question of talent.
RVP and Wayne are comparable to the first 2 but of a similar age or older.
Hernandez is a jammy player who has an incredibly limited skill set. Very rarely involved in build up, and struggles to create for himself or others.
Welbeck is far from the finished article and lack of games and wrong position probably explains his difficulties this year.
That said Mancini is probably right. RVP has been instrumental in a year where Wayne has missed a worryingly fair chunk of the season.

You clearly know nothing about football.
Have a feeling he's having a little dig at the city board, good thing robin wanted to come to a club with a tradition were the badge means more than the pay packet
Mancini talks for the sake of talking....his attempted mind games with SAF have no strength...like an amateur against the top pro.
RVP is a brilliant out and out striker. When he's got the ball in the box you really have to watch out, his finishing is astonishing. Aguero is slightly different, in that his movement and playmaking are better than RVP's but - at the moment anyway - he isn't quite so predatory.
I hate to say it but the striker in the prem who impresses me most at the moment is Suarez. Imagine if he was in front of a better midfield or had a decent partner.
As for mind games its all ballox - midgames aren't worth a single point and never have been.
& city never wanted him we were all led to belive, top player.
Surely he's not putting his dismal CL campaign down to missing out on RVP, desperate.

Try telling that to Raffa and Keegan!
Mark, come t think of it, do people think city could have done better in the champions league if they had RVP and does that mean united would have failed to qualify without him, judging by his performance for us in the competition.
Why do people post blank comments then written comments?
Just last week City fans were denying that the club were in for RVP. When I pointed out that Wenger, RVP and Mancini had all suggested otherwise, they changed their stance to it being that City weren't really too bothered and didn't offer the same wages as United. Now we hear from their own manager that money wasn't the issue.
You could tell from the way RVP has spoken that he was honoured and excited to join United. City fans need to accept that he chose United because of our history and prestige. Some players do still put value in such things.

Try telling that to Boris, the others seem to have accepted he chose United over City for those reasons you specified.
So they did want him afterall, shocker!
just wondering because everyone seems to do it
Ive never argued that City didn't want him, I have always argued that Mancini did and Marwood didn't, which is why if you look at this story, our interest was three or four months before you signed him.
I have to be honest, at the time I was more on Marwoods side as our four strikers were all doing fine and I thought that RVP was a bit of a risk at 24 million. Hindsight shows it was easily the best transfer of 2012 for me though. The only thing that is missing from his game is effectively, you play with 10 men when you dont have the ball. However, he is absolutely worth it.

We don't want him tackling man! He'll get injured.
meltonblue i beg t differ, RVP puts in a god shift when we don't have the ball and helps out a lot when it comes to defending set pieces, in fact his over enthusiasm when making tackles most f the time is what keeps getting him yellow carded
did mancini actually say any of this ,its jan1 not april 1st
whatever ,it heaps pressure on rvp,who will surely have a goal drought soon
