I've a feeling it might be one or two risky venues mind
Why is this Barra.....?? do you mean lack of support in foreign areas..
As for the winner of the world cup....I think it will be closer then ever...perhaps a ref's decision will detiremen the eventual winner, not that I wish to see it, but it will be that close.....a penalty here or a penalty there, could be the difference.
Lets make sure that every family member, and mate and every work colleague is made aware that its world cup year.
I love League; and I certainly rate it above Union, and even football (soccer). But the problem I have is of trying to convince my friends & workmates to take a punt and watch a game or two on Sky Sports.
They dismiss League as being old-fashioned, working class, watched by old guys in flat caps and speaking in broad Northern accents. Their perception of the game is stuck in a time-warp, and even though I have tried to convince them othewise, they just won't give League a chance.
So even though it is the World Cup this year, the media (in the UK at least), won't spin it to the masses too much; unlike the Union World Cup.
Anyway, let's hope we can prove the doubters and the cynics wrong with a truly amazing, enthralling World Cup 2013
Jack.....I really feel sorry for those mates that won't give themselves the opportunity to watch what I perceive as the best game on earth...
I loved playing it, I loved being involved in it and I now love every minute of watching it...live or on the idiot box with a few mates argueing about the game (usually a ref's call) over an ale or two....it really is a huge part of my life.
I can understand those that might prefer another sport.....but to not enjoy rugby league leaves me mystified...good luck.
yeah Syd take Cook Islands v USA in Bristol in a Rugby Union heartland not exactly going to draw the crowds they should have had the England v Australia game here IMO and get a decent crowd and used the home of Bristol City Ashton gate
Barra, I hope they are going to at least offer a cheap entry fee, so as to create some sort of crowd.
Souths.
They dont do "cheap" in Union land.
Oh!! well, perhaps a free pint or a new pair of elbow patches..
