Ba wants to play for Chelsea
Sturridge wants to play for us
Why do people this we get to choose who plays for us?
It's extremely deluded
Just wanted to put it out there that although Demba Ba is a good striker and is cheaper,
====================================
If you add the massive amounts his agents seem to want, the wages that Ba seems to be demanding, add 7 million, and the fact that the player cant be insured due to dodgy knees, then it may well have been quite a bit more expensive to buy Ba instead of Sturridge.
One has a reliable knee that can be insured - also prepared to take a wage cut.
The other is Demba Ba! Don't want him at Liverpool thanks!
Both teams needed both players, Chelsea needed another striker and we needed a RF that can play STR and LF and interchange during play.
Sturridge is young english and came from chelsea so 12m is a risk but a fair price i guess for once. Ba is 7m but has high wage demands and agent fees for not the firs time either. His agent will be loaded after the West Ham Newcastle and now Chelsea transfers.
He has dodgey knees but he scores and doesnt seem to need much service to score either.
You now have three versatile forwards in sturridge sterling and suarez.
Could be a very exciting, interchanging front three.
Your team is starting to take the shape of Brendon Rogers' Swansea team. With better players obviously.
Wouldnt be surprised if he tried to get another possesion based CM aswell.
as Harry says, you have had your trousers pulled down. this is another pool overpaid rubb(ish), that you willl come to regret-like, Caroll, downing, Aqua, Cole, henderson, sahin---the list goes on.
Ba would of been a quick fix, pretty much guarenteed to get goals. Sturridge will hopefully prove the better buy in the longer term.
I get the feeling Ba would choose whoever paid him the most. Could give Chelsea a chance of getting into the title race though...

Think I'll listen to the numerous Chelsea fans saying we've got ourselves a good player, rather than a dim witted carrot

How much have spurs spent to win 1 league cup, in god knows how many years.
Sorry, as a fan of on the whole, unsuccessful club, who win next to nothing year after year, Ill look elsewhere for advice on how to spend money, compared to gaining success, as a spurs ex manager, and a spurs fan, wouldn't know the first thing about success, compared to spending.
.then why are they getting rid of?
now having had your trousers lowered, quietly bend over and pay the piper
Chelsea can afford to pay silly wages, silly insurance demands, silly agent demands.
We can't.
Simple as that.
Ba would be a relatively short term
and expensive risk, he works for Chelsea because money is no object, so he is a no brainer for them.
Sturridge works for us because we are on a tighter budget and need long term gain on any expensive acquisition.
tighter budger? 7 is less than 12?
Christ you are moron. Filtered.
7m is less than 12m but 5m a year is less than 2.5m a year wages.
We also don't need to pay ba, his agents and his brothers an extortionate fee to come to us.
Sturridge scored goals when he was starting in the Chelsea team....he is a victim of the rafa/abramovich Torres obsession unfortunately
Ba has to get Chelsea through to the summer when they'll try to to throw a suitcase full of dollars at Falcao.
Sturridge was good at Bolton.
he was good when given a chance at chelsea after the bolton loan too.
Nothing personal but wouldn't touch ba with a ba-rgepole. He's a dodgy knee waiting waiting to bang. jimmyTheRed
Some of the comments on here are ridiculous. There is no doubt that ba is probably the better signing, and these wages comments are pure rubbish considering how much players like gj and gerrard get paid.
Also, you would want sturridge at the top of the front three considering his laziness when it comes to tracking back. Yet I don't know why you have to compare the ba and sturridge signing. Both are good early deals from both clubs for good prices. Liverpool will be much better with sturridge, as will ba with chelsea.
