Mata is the best attacking midfielder in the league

Why?

Cazorla's an excellent player mind, but Mata is freakin amazing! Best midfielder in the league and third overall, after Suarez & RVP.

Yes, he's better but he's not "much better". He has better attributes to Cazorla like Santi has over him.

Im sorry but this is Mata 2nd season. In his 1st season he was good like Santi. Plus Mata has alot better players to play with. Santi has Gervinho Mata has Hazard, Oscar ect.

don't agree at all, Carzola is in his first season in the league. If you recall last year Mata looked pretty ordinary at times. It takes time for a foreign player to settle. Carzola has been quiet recently but that is down to the fact he is being played to much he needs a rest.

^ That. Mata has been superb this season and very good last. But Cazorla is quality and has done very well and no reason why he won't improve too.

We couldn't quite stretch to signing Mata, so we signed Gervinho instead.

This is what annoys me about people.
Mata much better than Cazorla? Couldn't be further from the truth.
Even if you feel it is so it would be marginally. Debatable.

People seem to judge a player based on how many goals he scores or form.

Personally I still think both Cazorla and Silva are better than Mata. All top players though.

Mata has a better end product. Cazorla is better at everything else. this is similar to why defenders dont get considered as the best players of all time, players get rated on goals and assists, not on things such as how well they can control a game or how good of a slide tackle they can put in.

In terms of technical ability and controlling games, I think Cazorla and Silva are better than Mata. I think Mata is more efficient/productive though. He gets into the box a lot more than Cazorla and Silva. His set pieces are amazing as well.

that is the most annoying for me too. People judge only on goal. Every striker will score here and there only because his position is upfront.

I heard Mata used to be a forward when he was younger. Shows in his play kinda.
He plays almost as a striker for Chelsea sometimes.

Yeah Dubbed, he used to play just behind the striker for Valencia.

I kind of see him as a second striker now because he gets into the box so much.
