Dodgy formation and too many players out of position, you'd think he was testing something out
surprise surprise Moan Utd fans moaning
taking of hernandes was silly, but welbeck was utd's best player until rvp came on so how was he awful?
i notice some ppl like to critcise certain players regardless of how well said player performed.
WTF you on about with Kagawa? He wasn't particularly influential in the game, but he was class on the ball. His touch and control is a joy to behold. To say he looked like he had never played football before is ridiculous.
"Welbeck was awful tonight"
Eh? What game were you watching?
Fack off you clown.
Welbeck was our best player. The stick 'fans' attempt to give him is verging on ludicrous. His interchange with Cleverley was brilliant, particularly in the first half.
Welbeck did well without scoring as usual, Kagawa was poor.
did you watch the match statman?
do you really think Kagawa was 'class' tonigjt?
Get your head out of his bum mate ... I know he's still not fully match-fit but he's awafu like tonight then he should be criticized like any other player!
Who's this guy
Anyone d think you lost, Wenger s manager and your in 4th place behind city in the league,
Van noodles, cantona, Hughes, yorke, ole, good times
And now RVP,
O.P you need to insert a line talking about how Valencia is not a footballer anymore.
Eh? what game were you watching?

I should ask you the same question

Well you are the only one on this thread who seems to think Welbeck was awful.
So I repeat, what game were you watching?
I'm not Danny's biggest fan, but i thought he was one of our better players tonight. Kagawa looked like a player that has recently returned from injury. I thought he was poor, but happy he had 90 mins under his belt. He will undoubtedly perform better than that in future games.
Just happy we are still in the cup. It's been too long since we've won it.

Try reading what I said properly. I said he was class in the ball and referenced his touch and control. I also said he wasn't particularly influential. Picking one word out of a full post is an idiotic approach.
You on the other hand have called Welbeck's performance awful. You can't have seen the game, or you don't understand football.
Is it good enough for a striker to at well without scoring?
Darkphoenix ,
I'm tired of talking about Valencia .... at this point I just watch in 'amazement' his runs to nowhere and his decision-makings

If you watched that and honestly think that Welbeck was awful then your football knowledge is akin to that on a back of a postcard. He was our best player, with only Cleverley playing anything like he can.
I actually agree with most other assessments you make on this article. But regarding Welbeck, you're talking bollox.
Welbs needs games and he played pretty well. Our issue was the wide men creating little. Kagawa didn't get involved and when he did he was largely ineffective, less said about Valencia the better, Raf isn't a winger but put the effort in.
If Rooney was fit, and in Kagawa's place, I think we'd of won tonight.
You have to take into account that the West Ham fans were brilliant and West Ham are a very physical team, cup ties are always tough.
someone asked "Is it good enough for a striker to play well without scoring? "
that question in my opinion defines welbeck. A brilliant player who does not seem to score. Is he unlucky, or just not predatory enough.
If given a run of 20 games in a row as No.9 I'm certain he'll finish that run with 1 in 2.
People speak of his goal return this season and compare it to the other three forwards. Why? He's played as a No.9 on about 3 occasions. It isn't a fair assessment and just not in proper context. Compare him to our wingers and that is a fair comparison.
Welbeck's all round game is improving, he's scoring for the national team and has tons of technical ability given his size and build. At 22, considering how he played last season and what he has achieved in his young career so far, he will be more than fine.
When he's 25/26+ I think he'll be a beast of a centre forward,I really do.
WTF you on about with Kagawa? He wasn't particularly influential in the game, but he was class on the ball. His touch and control is a joy to behold.

It wasn't tonight mate, the ball got away from him on numerous occasions due to a poor first touch, was also caught napping on the ball a few times as well, i like his energy and industry but you could say the same about ji sung.
