The new I am Kloot stuff is decent. Also looking forward to the new Foals album and just booked to see My Bloody Valentine up in Manchester in March at the Academy.
As a change from going through my cd catalogue, all 300+ of them, i'm listening to all my free issue cd's which came with the NME over the years, some real crackers in there too.
I used to love the free cassettes you'd get with NME and Select. Ive still got all mine saved up.
I'm going to MBV, I saw them in ' 92 (it was hellish)... I love Loveless (all of it) and feed me with you kiss (I never heard that live, but apparently people till have tinnitus after the early shows)
I enjoy a good debate/argument, one of the reasons I am here but I appreciate anyone who can not take it to heart and in an altogether different topic we can even agree or have a laugh.
Most of us enjoy the odd remark at our rivals expense that would probably be considered snide or bitter as long as it doesn't become too much (e.g mafia with Tottenham fans) I don't see the harm personally
I've still got the flexidisc off NME of Lucifer Over Lancashire by The Fall. Can't play it, obviously.
If youre at the academy gig let me know nearer the time. I'll get you a pint. I'll probably be driving, Im always the soft get who gets driving duties.
MBV were the first band to blow my mind sonically. Soon was the song I think Id been searching for all my life. Ive seen them in London a couple of times and on the Rollercoaster tour with JAMC, Blur and Dinosaur Jr. I should probably blame them for my tinnitus.
Knotty, do you have the "This is fort apache" free cassette from the NME? All bands from the boston area recorded at fort apache studios, i was listening to it only 2weeks ago.
Nice one, Knotty, we'll be in touch. I love the fact that Kevin Shields insisted that Loveless was CD only because people would think the tape or vinyl was warped. It's that good, isn't it?
EB, yeh Im sure Ive got that, I never got rid of any of the tapes they did just in case they were worth something in the future. Im a bit of a hoarder like that when it comes to music.
TPNM. When Loveless was released I took the day off work so I could listen to it. It'd be good to catch up.
