£10m max....

But not many clubs would be willing to take a gamble on a crock

News reports suggest that West Ham are willing to pay somewhere around 17m - 19m.

But Hatry likes him (tried to buy him for Spurs, for 25m), so if QPR stay up, he could bid the price up.

Hatry???
That should be 'Arry.

We will get well over 10 mil for him. I expect (hope for) around half of what we paid for him. He is still young.

Anything more than 7m will be a gross waste of lucre!

£5m, tops.

I think there are enough non-flair sides in the league who saw what kind of impact he has in the right setup.

On form he's unplayable but he's had injury problems and a lot of people think he's been misused/mistreated.

On age, potential, and past performances (all of Newcastle, the form he ended at Liverpool and the immediate impact he had at his loan start) I reckon he'll go for 13.

TKT but would the 'non flair' sides be able to spend over 10million on a player? possibly with the new tv deal but figures of £15+ only a select few clubs in england can spend so much on a single player, would those clubs in intrested?

13 is a big buy for a smaller side but it's not epic amounts of money

players like bent, defoe and crouch have moved for roughly that or much more to non CL sides

We should have just sold him back to Newcastle in the summer for £12m. Don't think we will even get that for him now.

I would be shocked if any club outside of QPR or Newcastle would be able and willing to spend over £10m on him.

Also what wage is he on at Liverpool?

I think we could squeeze £15m out of someone for him.

If we can't then we should keep him and allow him increase his sell on value when he's not out injured.

Dalglish spoke about Slur Alex's cleverness in doing this in his biography. He has a point. Carroll's on a long term contract so why should we sell him when the price is rock bottom. The club needs to be smarter than that as clubs will want to take advantage come the summer with Carroll's situation.

He is due back at the end of this month isn't he?

If he goes on and scores a few for WH I can see them spending £17m on him. (Isn't there some sort of clause they sign him if they stay up??)

If no one offers half decent money for him surely we could just loan him out for another season hoping he hits some form and gains some value, what is his contract length with us?

Sorry PPD, just wrote pretty much what you said, hadn't read it.

There is, but its an only option and it is one they won't excercise. They'd have to be mad to pay £17m for him

cobnob, that clause was originally muted in the original dealings, but when they finally got him last minute that deal was not part of it.

Someone will take a gamble on hiom. the price depends on whether there is more than one suitor and how badly we want rid of him. There is no obligation for WHU to buy him going by the reports of the transfer. 10mil and I'll be happy. I'd be happier if he stayed and scored for us though, but I just don;t see that happening.

Stupid scousers. How can you think you'll get 13m for him. I won't even pay 5m for this useless donkey.
