they get too much too young....in this case....johnson had indeed showed gr8 talent....but in what.....25/30 appearances....!?
then the club panick that he'll be snapped up elsewhere...so offer a daft contract....too secure him...
he instantly becomes a multimillionare on paper....

What a waste.
Didn't Johnson score the winner against us during 'that' season?
This guy's decline really doesn't say much about the support network in place at City does it? Hughes i'm sure is a different kettle of fish but it's not the best advert for nurturing and producing new talent. Hughes and his family should definitely take note.
And as for 40 k a week for an 18 year old. That matches the highest ever wage we've dished out, which was for Ravenelli which nearly ruined us. Really does put things in perspective.
I read it was £25k p/w, but in any case it's clearly enough to support a whole chain of McDonalds restaurants
Will Hughes: take note! Whilst there is undoubtedly an attitude problem with the individual, the fact Manchester City have allowed his fitness to degenerate to that level just shows that they have absolutely no interest in the players other than those who are actually pulling on the shirt each week.
Psst - 666, don't mention 'pulling on the shirt' and City in the same breath, they're still a bit touchy about that whole Balotelli / Ricardo van Rhijn thing.

This..? His hand barely glanced Balotelli's shirt, man!
Granted, it's more customary to wait until after the match to exchange shirts, but, as I'm always telling Mrs Botherer, being a little premature is nothing to be ashamed of.

That's amazing. I can't believe it. Derby were only 1-0 down at half time?
Saw this earlier today and was going to post about it on here, you beat me to it RapstaRam.
Can't believe it's the same bloke, such a waste of talent. Really hope Hughes has seen this. If he went anywhere, I'd be happiest with Arsenal, purely because of Wenger's record of giving youngsters a chance. Also I reckon he and Wilshere could benefit from playing regularly together, as there's a very good chance they'll play for England together, all being well and good and all that
