obviously he is earning millions at Spurs. But players who play for very small clubs depend on this money from Togo FA
There is too much corruption most African countries. The govermnet inout next to nothing on sports development as they would rather keep the money for themselves. Adebayor quit Togo when he realised most of his teammates were not being paid.

There's corruption in Italy, Brazil and Argentina, their football is still of a high standard. Don't think corruption has a lot to do with it tbh.
DJ why did Arsenal pull out of their pre-season tour in Nigeria? Chelsea and Arsenal have A LOT of fans in West Africa, so I was glad they were spreading their reaches when they announced it, kind of like Chelsea going to USA and Asia recently for pre-season tours.
TBK, yeah they tend to lose the best exports and pick up the ones who decide they won't make it for the European country (Emmanuel Frimpong!)
Obviously not that straight forward, some European born players do feel a strong bond, and I wouldn't doubt that. But for many it does seem a bit Vinnie Jones playing for Wales/Clinton Morrison playing for Eire.
If most African countries had the resources that England have they would surpass England
TBK, they was some violence out there or something. I don't think the safety standards were met.
Although some players did go, so it couldn't have been that bad.
Think they plan to go this year instead.
But most of the players with dual nationalities is from their parents isn't it? While the players themselves grew in whatever country they live in, Ghana were pushing for Welbeck but he was born in Longsight. I've always thought myself if I was good enough which country I'd play for.. I have the added choice of Ireland.

You're right about that, quite a lot of good african players have been adopted by european countries. Look at Anichebe (ok, ok, no laughing!), Nedum Onuoha, Carlton Cole, there are others but don't have a list
But Blue Kenyan - those players mentioned, do not even come near to African players of the past.
A player like Fabrice Muamba chose to play for England despite growing up in Congo until he was about 13 (read his autobiography, but cannot remember exactly).
It is always a personal choice, but often is a choice which is pretty much decided by your talent.
Maybe, but in all fairness the likes of Muamba, Agbonlahor (how did i forget him!), Cole... etc, are not good enough for the england team, or which european nation they call home, why not try their hand at being the big fish for their african teams?
Be interesting to see what a player like Wilfred Zaha chooses in the future if he doesn't reach the top and never gets a competitive game for England. When he is 26/27 does he decide to go and play for Cote d'Ivoire or pass up on international football (if they want him of course)
Jamaica when they reached the World Cup was funny. All of a sudden loads of players made themselves available when before they were hoping for an English cap.
i have dual nationality
not an african country though
I fancy Algeria - they have that siege mentality.

They take no prisoners. Oh, hang on...
Vitor Moses surprised me, I thought he would choose England.
It's not easy to play for these African countries, especially when you are use to the lifestyle and luxuries of your club when you travel.

Also for an unestablished player at club level it is a risk, given he will potentially miss big opportunities to get into the team. Same with Frimpong, to an extent.
Moses knew he never had a chance of playing for England regularly that's why he chose Nigeria

And then he saw Wilfred Zaha get capped ...
england are sheeet though.
i doubt moses is kicking himself.
Didn't know about Muamba, similar to Moses in that he was forced to move her as a child due to problems in his country, but they've gone for seperate options. And thinking about it Feruz was the same - looks like he is going for Scotland. Mind you I think (will check) he's from Sudan so wouldn't have had oppurtunities there then..
And then he saw Wilfred Zaha get capped ...

Nah, he's from Somalia, but similar situation.

England has never beaten Nigeria in any competitive fixture.
Friendly in 1994 ended 1-0 in favour of England. I remember David Platt header but Nigeria controlled the game and had better chances. JJ Okocha was magnificent that day and the England keeper had a good game.
In FIFA under20 competition, Nigeria won England by a goal.
