Thoughts on today's matches?

Enjoyed the first match more, England were always going to win this afternoon and the Wales-Ireland encounter was close to call.

Great game by england. they won playing in 3rd gear. they certainly have more to offer and with Tuilagi back they will be difficult to beat next week.

Ireland were brilliant in attack and defense and played that game with 14 men for 20 mins. That's a positive for ireland.

So another cracking weekend next week.

Ireland-England next week certainly has the making of a cracker. Potentially the title decider? I can't see France winning it as they have England and Ireland BOTH away.

French win tomorrow?

posted on 2/2/13

yep, although i think italy could cause an upset if france arent at it, anything is possible if you have the great sergio parisse in your team

Guys i seriously think you are writing france off. They are very strong this year. stronger than i have seen them in years.

I'm not doubting they have a strong side, I just think that playing both Ireland and England away and winning is going to be too much to ask. Even one win and a loss might not be enough to win the 6 Nations if points difference comes into play.

france are very strong on paper they always are the best team on paper, but its upstairs they struggle

posted on 2/2/13

Well gents, im telling you now that this year the upstairs part is not an issue. They have a new, good manager and well respected manager. they are a happy bunch which is rare in france. Don't forget i hate them but this year i fear them more than other years.

My opinion this could be a vintage french team.

Thats the reality as i see it Mex.

But hey the best way way to look at it is look only at the next game. Beyond that its a fog.

For me there are the big 3 teams England Wales and France and thankfully we have got one of them out of the way today. and next week one of them come to our ground. So for now im looking only at the next game and not at winning a championship

next week should be the best game of the tournament hopefully lancaster drops barritt for tuilagi rather than twelvetrees who was superb

It's going to be a 3-way race for the championship. Never write off France, true, but I can't see them doing it. Ireland just might you know.

best chance for us in years. we won the opener away to wales and we have france and england at home. its the best chance of winning a championship we have ever had. so im hopeful but not expectant. yesterday it was a toss up between England and France. today Ireland put themselves in the mix. But its still a tall order.
