For me its De Rossi. Its a pity he never played for a big club otherwise he would have been rated much higher than he is now.

If I included Wilshire, then Id have to include Cleverley as the latter is better. But didn't want the hassle

You must consider Wilshere an AM these which is fair enough. I assume that because Carrick's name is along side these world class players!

That is because Carrick is world class or nearly. Why do you think he has been ever present in our side for so long?

No. There is no way a man who has been a consistent performer for one of the most succeful sides in Europe over the past 6 years can be any good.

Scott Brown.

Might be Scottish but he's bossed the best.

Like the look of bayerns and Dortmonds midfield, so any of them really! On carrick, the French were loving him recently calling him the best after the barca lot......now carrick is a cracking player and I really like the bloke but the French have some good red stuff if they rate him that highly

3 followed by 5. Those two at the moment are too class.

As for Carrick with all due respect he's not good
Enough to be on that list.

Carrick is underrated in England but the best outside of the Barcelona lot is very high praise indeed!

I have always loved Bastian personally, I say Bastian as spelling....

Schweinsteiger is always going to end up going badly...

Carrick like Barry are underated ecause they do the unspectacular but necessary job that alows others to take the lime light.

no one is saying carrick is poor, bbut to say he is scloe to world class is a crime.

anyway, schweinsteiger

How are Roma not a big club?

Carrick is a good player, he should get more games for England. Always creates space makes himself available. Khedira is probably worth a mention too, he's has become an excellent all round midfielder.

Carrick is England's most underrated player, imo. Never understood how Parker or Barry get ahead of him for England. He's England's best passer and his awareness and composure is excellent. The closest thing England have to Busquets.

People get so wound up that some underrate Carrick, that they overcompensate and then overrate by a fair margin.

He's good. He's not great.

to the article.

Toure. He world class.

He is great though

People are mentioning attacking mids. Sure the OP specifically asked for CMs.

Anyway, how has anyone not mentioned Xabi Alonso? It's between him, Toure and Bastian.

Well said.
