The only reason we had an automatic spot there for a couple of seasons was due to us getting into the last 16 2 years running and Rangers getting to the Uefa cup final. I think Hearts had a decent run as well one of those seasons. It will take us getting to the quarter or semi's before we get an automatic spot again. We are the only team in Scotland that can do anything in Europe sadly.
If Dundee Utd and Aberdeen can get decent managers in they could do alright. Dundee Utd have a decent squad but a lousy manager at the minute.

It's very simple, your total is calculated on your average score, I think it's over five years. On qualification I believe your league total is calculated on how well the teams within the league do in Europe, over five years. Is it not possible for Celtic to do well, push up the total and thus have one automatic qualifying position back?

I think we would need to push the league up to 15?? to get an automatic spot and with Celtic the only Scottish team in Europe it would take 3 or 4 seasons of at least getting to the last 16. If we could keep the current squad together for another season I could see us going really far in the CL. Unfortunately our best players will be gone in the summer. Just as well we have a cracking youth setup and will replace them
