i like alex hales, think he could be a great test player

Thats an excellent opinion. Always thought he looked class. Also perhaps a long term replacement for Bell in opening in Odi's

Looks like no Patel and Morgan.

Kash, if Bopara gets anywhere near the test side again, I'll throw my andy flower poster out the window

Ravbop shouldn't be in the test side at all. He just isn't good enough.

Essex will be quite happy for him to not be included, as well.

Likewise Bresnan shouldn't be anywhere near international cricket, at any level what so ever.

Ravi Bopara has alot of ability just not got the mentality for any form of international cricket. Maybe 20/20 where he can bowl 4 overs and hit a quick fire 35. 50/50 no place for bits and pieces cricketers..Patel and Bresnan fall into tha catergory, The latter is a good 3rd seamer in England agaisnt lessar opposition.
I can't understand why Onions doesnt even get a go at 50 overs. Surely hes better than Dernbach? England sellectors aint able to think correctly.. They expected the wickets to take spin in India and hoped Dernbach slower balls would decieve the batsmen. It was just one way of thinking.. Like the bits and pieces players. Patel is neither a good enough batsman at 5 and his bowling is around 6th change.. We have seen Root bowl better.

Hales is a good shout for Tests but had an average CC season. Cannot be far away from ODI.

Not a fan of Bresnan, Patel or Kieswetter. Dernbach should be T20 only.

Lets also not format Taylor, who will hopefully start the season well.

Yorkie, have you seen much of the Overtan twins from somerset? Look very promising @ the u19 with topley aswell.

Overton? Chris and the other one... No, I thinkbthey played a few times last year in the CC.

Glad you mentioned Topley. He looks immense in all formats and should be an automatic pick for the Lions, as should Ashraf in ODI and T20. Also like Thakor, Vince, Rafiq... We have some good young players.

Yeah I hope so. I am a massive Stokes fan. If ge can stay injury free he has the lot - powerful batsman, good wicket taking bowler. He and Root can share the fifth bowler role for years.
