Would rather give Miller another go than sign Henderson tbh - not enamored with the thought of him at our club.
Although I do like the new intro to his Wiki page that I've pasted below:
Darius Alexis Henderson (born 7 September 1981 in Sutton, England)[1] is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Twice European Champions, Nottingham Forest F.C. Henderson is known for his strength, heading ability and his physicality. On January 24 2013, he shocked the Footballing world by swapping the gloomy violent slums of Milwall, for the crime free, Footballing haven of Nottingham.
I think people are making quite a big deal out of the Henderson signing. He's a free transfer, signing until the end of the season. Really it's a no risk situation. If we can get a few goals and good performances from him then great. If not we haven't lost a lot.
He does have a better goal scoring record than I thought and was very good against us this season.

As long as he does it on the pitch, I'm not bothered.
Has it snowed yet, Webbo, on the moral low-ground?
If he get's locked up then we have 3 other strikers.
We won't lose anything. No fee, and no doubt cancel his contract
Luke McCormick's also available and not actually IN prison: cheeky bid in the offing?
Right - i didn't know he was a free transfer until the end of the season - fair enough. Makes some sense, then. But so does giving Miller a chance if we can't shift him. I remember watching him play for QPR against a couple of seasons back and he was immense down the left hand side, would be great to see him produce some of that form.

We've got Darlow 666..... plus he is playing non-league football...... more a target for your manager, than ours?
I can see it's not a huge risk, my concerns are: reputed long ball merchant manager signs big lump, signing him means less time on the pitch for Blackstock, he's on big money more than Milwall can afford and is coming to us as a bench warmer. That just shows the typical chuck money at it mentality we have which is what I'd hoped we were moving past.
Yeah - my biggest concern is what this signals for our tactics. I can kind of imagine AM's first choice becoming Henderson and either Sharp or Cox. I hope I'm wrong.
My concerns are that we aren't spending enough to seriously challenge for promotion. Yes, Henderson is risk free, but there's been no risk to date whatsoever when it comes to bringing in players. Our transfer policy appears to be sell to buy: ie Gunter for Cox, supplemented with loans and short term deals. Players like Harding, Halford and Henderson are decent squad players, but we're not going to be tearing the division apart with these players. Burke should have been a done deal, but it seems like we're trying to save every penny we can to make it happen. I noticed we were interested in Alonso from Bolton until somebody actually made him a `good offer`, and that just about sums it all up. I'd like Fawaz to make Blackpool an offer they can't refuse for young Thomas Ince. Once they accept, terms will be relatively affordable. I bet he's on less than Burke anyway.
It's possible that the signing of Henderson will mean a change of tactics for the games he plays. However, just because he's a big hold-up players it doesn't mean we have to lump it up to him constantly. You can still keep the ball to feet and use someone like Henderson to play with his back to goal and feed players like Sharp and Cox. It;s the classic big man/little man combo and can be very effective.

A little bit of wee came out
Ince does seem a bit unlikely seeing as Liverpool aren't able to secure his signature.
why not 666? Blackpool are making huge losses, it's only a matter of time before they have to sell, and Liverpools interest is only speculative. Jordan Rhodes was on his way to the Premier league before Balckburn trumped them all. I reckon £4m would get Ince if we got in early and showed intent. I don't believe we will, but I'd like to see us buy players with resale value.
Dave
Ince is going to Liverpool,
Sell to buy? We've sold one player haven't we. Paid decent fees for Cox, Lansbury Collins etc
That Alonso is going to fiorentina we can't compete with the likes of them.
And Brum are waiting on Burke to get the best deal. Why should we pay 100Ks more to get him a week early?
Sorry but I'm not having the first post. Ambitions great but a club like ours can't beat Liverpool and fiorentina to players
Sutton,
Liverpool are looking for experience according to Rodgers. As far as I'm aware their interest in Ince is purely speculative. There interest has only really been reported in the Mirror and Mail, and that usually means that it's sourced from agents.
There is a potential issue with the Burke deal. What if somebody like Leeds come in with that extra £100,000 this week and trumps us? Where are we going to get a player as good as Burke at that price then?
STOP PRESS ::::::::::::::::::::::::
Derby County are making a bid for Swansea ball boy Charlie Morgan. Relatively unknown before last nights League Cup Semi Final, it is believed that NLN is willing to make an offer for the Swansea lad who can keep hold of the ball longer than any of Derby's current squad of players
Booooom!
The point is if Ince knows a club like Liverpool have been looking at him, why come to us? There's no doubt other EPL clubs are looking and his agent will no about it. Also you've got FFP to consider and the rest of it. ND was putting in £10m a year to cover our wage bill which has to be bigger now.
What if we offer another 100k now and Brum will probably still say, no we'll wait. Get the story out there and try and start a bidding war. If someone comes in with a bigger bid I'm sure they'll be straight on the phone to us. It's in their interests
Rumor Derbyshire is going to Blackpool, hopefully it won't be on loan.
Most of Derbyshire goes to Blackpool ... or Skeg
But they always come back!
^
Most consider themselves well travelled if they get as far east as Spondon.
