Are ridiculous - this guy had a 'great day out', yet he isn't willing to part with a measly £12 to re-live the experiance? Pathetic
==============
He says "we" so you can assume he went with his kids or wife that he may have had to pay for.
Plus £12 isn't exactly measly for a lot of people, and if your budget only allows few days out £12 to watch semi-pro football isn't exactly a budget option compared to many other attractions.

I'd say it's been probably 3 maybe 4 seasons at least since you actually went to a Liverpool game and even then it was treated as an 'EVENT' rather than a typical matchday

--------------------------------
I went to Liverpool-Crusaders in June. Before that Liverpool-City in 2011 at Anfield.
I can't really find close to match day that there's tickets available then do it, from where I live. So I rely on the Liverpool club I used to be a member of to get me tickets when somebody drops out. Simply with getting married last year, that took priority.
What people haven't noted here is the extra cost for fans who have to fly to get to the stadium. Sometimes you get the offers saying £20 return but when you actually get to the payment part the have been charges added on.
But again Phillip, you don't really care about that, you just want to get a childish dig in and considering you are on the dole, you couldn't be getting to many games either, can you?
It's also worth noting that once again you've turned an article, a good article worthy of debate with a lot of good comments into another childish t it for tat argument. You're a sad bitter little dole scrounger.
"Plus £12 isn't exactly measly for a lot of people, and if your budget only allows few days out £12 to watch semi-pro football isn't exactly a budget option compared to many other attractions"
Well, then I'm afraid he'll have to content himself with those other attractions - that probably sounds harsh, and you may have some choice names for me, but this is the real world where things cost money. And £12 isn't far off what the cinema wants you to pay them to sit in a dark room for a similar length of time - yet no-one's screaming about that.
Why not go down the park and watch your local side - I do when I'm walking the dogs. Total cost = Zero. The football's pretty shít, but I've still got £12 to spray up the wall later!
Yes - some ticket prices are probably too high, but come on.

I have got a season ticket TOOR,I will try and explain the concept of a season ticket for you as you have probably never had or seen one.
I pay for my season ticket up front, the earlier I get it the better the deal I get and that season ticket entitles me to attend all the premiership home games in a season in the same seat,in my case in the park end.
I have had the same seat for the last 5 seasons, beforehand I used to go the Gwladys street.
Not bad for someone who is a dolelite is it TOOR
Okay guys.................................Back to the main point of the article please!
attendance is down because we're on the verge of a triple dip recession and there are more important things to spend money on. Or even put it in savings

How do you pay for it when you're on the dole? Also I thought Everton only sold half season tickets?
Genius
There are several reasons, one being the price of tickets, that seem to be going through the roof at the same time as players wages. It doesn`t take a lot of working out where all the money is going. Another reason, despite all the hype, is that there are some absolutely dire matches on offer. Forget about the top half a dozen teams in the prem, would any neutral be rushing to pay for tickets to watch say Wigan v Fulham, or Sunderland v QPR. There may be lots of foreign players in the prem today, but I can honestly say there is absolutely no player I would rush to spend my money on to watch these days in the prem.

I don't think neutrals should be coming into it. There's over a million fans for each of those clubs you mention, just for talks sake, so surely they could get full attendance without neutrals going? Well check the prices, many fans can't afford it when they are worrrying about feeding their family.
Does the quality and style of play come into it also? Would fans be more inclined to say watch Liverpool's tika taka as opposed to Everton's hoofball?
A standing ticket a few years ago at AFC Wimbledon when they were in the conference only cost £2. That was a fun experience
comment by There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
Despite watching most of the game yesterday for free,I would have gladly paid to watch Oldham outplay Liverpool for 60 minutes and then defend gamefully as Liverpool played hoofball for the final 30 minutes of the game
cost is one reason and secondly because football these days is all about one thing and thats getting to the premier league. my team nottingham forest have recently sacked a decent manager in sean o' driscoll who played football on the floor and it was entertaining to watch. we were rubbish at defending and our discipline was poor but everything was always positive and entertained watching forest. now we've brought in a totally uninspiring man in alex mccleish who plays boring football, moans about the players and generally is very negative. watching forest has become a chore and i'm rapidly losing interest in whether we win or not.
football needs to reduce prices, bring back safe standing and their should be greater reward given to cup competitions than gaining or even getting relegated from the premier league. then you wouldn't see so much unnecessary spending and sacking.
Philo.................................Have patience, Mcleish will not last long & then you will probably go for Nigel Clough!!

unless your name is Adkins, he got treated harshly for getting Saints in the prem in my opinion, but i am not the owner so fair does, not my money, that's the problem now days.
look at Houghton at Newcastle, bet they would love him back now with where they are at, he shouldn't have gone in the first place either, but again as we are not the owners and not our money too easy to say.
silly gate prices
silly wages
silly expectations leading to managers not lasting 5 mins.
Even teams in the 3rd tier can set up effective game plan against Liverpool.High tempo pressing against your back four and defensive midfielders to stop you playing, then get decent crosses into a big man up front.
Brendan's teams only know 1 way to play,Swansea have greatly benefited from him leaving, they play far better football and are now through to their first major cup final. It's no coincidence that they have done that since Brendum left
^ what does that have to do with attendance falling?

I actually think it's much easier than that. Show aggression, kick, pull and push in the air and our team will fall apart. We couldn't handle it against Stoke or Everton when they done that either.
Luckily we have Arsenal next.
I don't watch or care about Liverpool as much as phil does, so I'll have to kowtow to his superior knowledge of all things Liverpool.
I don't think any Liverpool fan could claim to have as much interest in Liverpool as Doctor phil does

Good question. TOOR and this Everton chappy seem intent on wrecking a perfectly good thread with their personal bickering like girls.

Excuse me Cat but I was having a perfectly reasonable debate before this clown came. Forgive me for sticking up for myself and not bending over.
I do hope you remember your earlier days on here, unless I'm mistaken you spent a lot of it ruining Liverpool articles.
