missing a game for his goodbye party

good start

Err... I da know... maybe he has luggage, a family etc.

Footballers are human beings too you know

He should take as much (reasonable) time as he needs to move and get settled...

I believe we signed he for the long term not the next 5 days

Hardly unreasonable. If you were told this morning that you're moving to a different country from the one you'd been living the majority of your life, you'd probably want to take a week or so to get things in order but professionally and personally. As far as we can see, this deal was 50/50 to happen, not nailed on by any means.

I'd imagine he was hardly going to play anyway, certainly not at Norwich, and certainly not after what would be at most one training session before West Brom.

I can see both sides:

A) He is moving to a new country and should be given time to do so

B) It is clear that he was coming for a couple of weeks, and there was a high chance it would be in January. What's to stop him moving today and tomorrow? I have had to manage it and go to work the next day, and I'm sure he can afford some hired help

Fack sake.

You don't have to move everything before you play. Germany is 2hrs away on a facking plane.

see that's what I thought too

Hang on why don't we fly him in today for the Norwich game. Then fly him back out to sort himself out. Then fly him over on the weekend for the west brom game

That seems like a simple solution. You can't get to Germany by plane quicker than I can drive from London to manchester ffs

*can get to germany.

Ffs spurs always facking complicating things.

it's another £60 for each flight though.

He's hardly going to play tomorrow, is he? He'd be lucky to have one training session with squad by tomorrow.

West Brom though...

Ok tomorrow might be soon. No excuse for not playing in the west brom game though

Although he has signed, he still has to get registered with the FA & the PL. Clearance has to be agreed by Schalke & the German FA.
So highly unlikely he would have been eligible for Norwich anyway.

SSN said he'd be available for Sunday , agree about the training sessions , I'll bet he'll be at both games although as to whether he plays in either match is another natter

yeah, tbh i do reckon it's a bit of a non-issue. west brom would be a tough opening game anyway - they're like terriers closing the man down all the time. in fact, we need 2 up front for that game

If I was a betting man, my outside tip would be Holtby on the bench Sunday.....................might get 15-20 minutes depending on how the game is going

Not sure where you got you're info from messiah but....
AVB confirms Lewis Holtby could make his debut against Norwich tomorrow. AVB: "He is in the squad."

That should clear that one up now

Was in this one man was in most of the stories tho to be fair, they must've told him to shift his ass and get over

To right aswell, he can go and sort out his stuff in germany when he has some free time. We desperately need him and lets hope he comes on as a sub against norwich because i don't think avb will start him.
