Not sure how anyone can disagree that Rooney has a great range of passing. And his short burst speed is obvious too.

His goal that Nani set up with a cut back proves both points... can't for the life of me remember who it was against though.

The pace to get on the end of that ball was ridiculous.

His goal against Bolton too... Outpaced Ronaldo

his goal against bolton was nearly 7 years ago for facks sake at 21 he should have a great burst of pace

Ji Sung you're the biggest dîck head here, the most un polite member I've come across in here.

You're a sensitive little soul, aren't you.

I'll take note of your name and remember to never say anything mean or nasty again.

How do you figure that?

All 21 year olds in the world can run that fast? Don't be soft.

Rooney is a fast player when he needs to be.... anyone saying otherwise is exactly the person i'm talking about in the original post.

He is overrated by some underrated by others.

Certainly not out heartbeat.

If we could get 50 odd mill for him and brin in someone like cavani it wouldnt be the end of the world.

Wish he could maintain performance in consecutive seasons.

rooney is nowhere near as quick as he was 3 years ago

Cavani?

Far more overrated than Rooney.

posted on 29/1/13

is he?

posted on 29/1/13

Hell yeah. He's good and all but isn't on Rooney's level.

If Cavani was that good why haven't any of the bigger clubs moved for him?

are you wumming rob?

Not at all Mexican. But no-one can say with any seriousness that Cavani is better than Rooney until he plays for a big club and shows some ambition.

City, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked to him over the past few windows.

im not saying he is, but to say he cant be that good because no-one had bid for him is silly, maybe because he'll cost about £45 million

WTF? That is the worst logic ever, so De Rossi is worst than Cleverley because he plays for a smaller club than United?! I love your WUMs Rob, sheer class

Cavani just maybe could be happy at Napoli, CL Football, they are the 3rd best supported club in Italy

No he hasn't,
Agree with others, hasn't kicked on from looking like a world class prospect at 18/19, also, wanted to leave us because we didn't have the players to match his ambitions, tell you what, look in the mirror Wayne

----------------------------
I would say you should look in the mirror

Wayne's been immense for United.

100 odd goals in the last 3 seasons alone

posted on 29/1/13

I don't watch foreign football much to gauge an opinion on Cavani, I love Wazza he is the ultimate team player but that crap about playing for a small club means you can't be compared with Europe's top players is donkey shitee

I do and often and I like what I see.....
So no other striker with the players around him that Rooney has would score that amount of goals, are you saying that Rooney has performed well on the whole in the last 2 years

posted on 29/1/13

I guess some fans would prefer 12 goals a season, but a few of them being wonder goals where he beat a player (18-20 years old).... Than 20+ goals a season, often from a #10 position and an all round beast of a player who will give it all for the club.

How people fail to see how he has grown as a player is beyond me. His goal on Saturday alone was a thing of beauty, but complacency has fans hardly raising an eyebrow.

It's only your facetiousness that made it 'donkey shiite'.

We were comparing Rooney and Cavani. Not any other players and I made a valid point. If Cavani was better than Rooney then why hasn't he moved to a massive club?

De Rossi doesn't count because Roma are a massive club and that's his hometown club.

I just don't see what Cavani has done in football to have people think he's better than Rooney.

Nah

30+ goals from a second striker is appaling tbf.
When fit, he's been playinf well since he came back from The States training camp.

The season before that, he was excellent playing in front of Berbatov

What is it exactly that you want from Wayne?

posted on 29/1/13

for me Rooney has gone backwards.... or at best remained stagnant.

when he burst onto the scene he looked a world beater, and while he has had a very decent career at utd, i think many expected him to possibly progress further than he has.

you cant doubt his commitment and his ability, however at times frustration grows when he fails to do the simple things for a period.

Danny Welbeck played in front of Rooney last season
