craig, agreed
to little to late.
Common's is worse than anyone for effort and desire, he was laughable at best when he came on against St Mirren. Need to switch something in centre mid to try and get more creativity through the middle.
Also, Lassad played Brown in for the goal and won us a penalty, far from the worst performer on Sunday
Craig agree with you mate and yes still gutted about Sunday, but yes I think Celtic will pump Killie tonight which will mean fluck all, and I bet St Mirren get beat tonight to make matters worse
Lennon is still learnin g the trade and I think his press confrences have improved, but he still needs to see and admitt when he messes up aswell
Kayal - disagree about Commons - he put a super ball in for Ledley to miss a sitter with about 15 minutes to go - a goal then and I'm sure we would have won it. Lassad and Sammy should both have been hooked at half-time
Kayal, Lassads first touch is awful.....but yes he did get the ball to Brown for our goal and that was a out it. I think he was our wose performer by far. Was on the board here on Sunday and many people agreed with me at half time that a change had to be made but Lenny changed it too late after we were 2-1 down. That was poor management.
Jungle, agree that St Mirren will probably get pumped tonight
Oh and apparently Lenny said he and the players learned after defeats at Hampden against Kilmarnock.....then Hearts.....and now St Mirren right
Commons was trying to make things happen when he came on
I'm going tonight,a can see the stadium being empty
No , he was right to have a go at Murdo .....Its not an easy thing to do ( win the treble) and Murdo should know this ...his article was designed for effect . To lose a second treble is just careless?? is he mad !!...im glad lennon spoke out about him
And you said he should have changed things earlier?? Really??
he took off lassad immediately after St Mirren scored and put on Commons
he then reacted to the third goal by making a double substitution
Think before you post nonsense
I mean Lennon isnt above criticism but people need to calm right down ....it was a semi final ...it could have went either way ....St mirren won and well done to them .
The Alan hanson brigade are all out in force now telling us what Lennon should have done different ...
we now have the OP telling us who he would play??? get a life!!
He would play "the new guy" whom hes never seen play in his life and drop someone who has quite frankly been a sensation since arriving at CP . ...any reason you would do this??
He would also drop sammy....why ?? because after his break he needs a break I dont know if youve ever noticed this but Sammy can be very hit or miss .....its nothing to do with him needin a break....thats just him!! he is capable of making something happen at any given moment !!
he would also kick our captain with his hip problems up the bum in the hope it makes him perform better ....not try harder...but perform better!!
Same goes with Wanyama ....He was bad on sunday but cmon!!!
I cant go muppets like you telling us all how it should be done . Lennon is doing quite fine using his own judgements thank you
I also think Stokes has become a different player since hes got injured ......im sure he will remind us all soon what hes capable of
I just want my team to win trophies and we keep throwing them away year after year. At the end of the day this is the business end of the season, cup semis etc will always be scrappy, but we have the talent to win trebles so its obviously a motivational/pyschological problem. Can't believe we have thrown away the league cup two years in a row, then we go out and skelp teams the fixture afterwards.
Lennon was in the wrong for having a go at McCleod for merely stating the obvious. He's always quick to praise Celtic when winning so only right to have a go when they're not. It's not as if he's a headline grabber.
Have to agree ath. Murdo obviously feels strongly about it reading his reply to lennons comments.
Tornado what tosh!!!! This should have been an easy treble with no Rangers around. Last year was poor to lose against Kilmarnock and Hearts and the St Mirren game was even worse!
Everyone could see at half time that the 433 wasnt working and Lassad was useless. We were lucky to go into the break at 1-1. St Mirren were out playing us all over the park and we should have changed at half time to 442 and taken Lassad off. Changing it at 2-1 down was too little too late.
Sammy and Mulgrew need a mental break. Sammy wasback to his awful self on Sunday and of course Mulgrew had a nightmare. And Brown is supposed to be our captain but where the hell was he second half? He was nowhere to be seen like the rest of the team when we still had a chance of getting back into the game.
You seem content with losing on Sunday tornado which is your perogative. If you are happy with that performance and the fact we cant beat lesser teams at our national stadium then it is you who are talking nonsense my friend!
Aye LMC, seen Murdo's reply earlier. Think NL's in the wrong here.
He has far too many opitions in his team and IMO does not know his best starting 11
The 2 games before saturday we scored 4 goals and were playing well. Then he completely changed the system for the semi. Why?
Lustig should be a starter..not a benchwarmer
I still think Brown should be replaced as captain. We need an older, more inspirational player who's 'been there, done it'. Brown is still immature and no good as a role model.
Lustig has been playing well and was then dropped. No wonder the players don't put in a performance at times.
Agreed about Lustig. We all thought Mathews was the man but Lustig came onto a game and then got dropped. Whether we scored 4 goals in our two previous games is neither here nor there, what irritates me more is the fact that Lenny couldnt see at half time that things werent working and he should have at the very least changed the system if not the personnel.
"This should have been an easy treble with no Rangers around"
Rangers are around are there are no easy trebles
You think we can go the season winning every game just cos we have a superior squad?? it doesnt work like that ...im not sure there has ever been a team in all of history to do such .
Ah so what you are saying is with hindsight we should have changed tactics well done you
As far as im concerened we had two main goals this season...to win the league and to get into the champions league through the qualifiers ...we are winning the league and we have surpassed any expectation i had with regards Euro progress
Yes losing at the weekend wasnt nice but the reaction to it has been nothing short of a disgrace !! what an over reaction to a one off game !!
All of a sudden the manager is clueless and certain players are duds ???
get a life ....
Youre the dud and its you thats clueless
If the OP doesn't care if we win tonight or not then he's not fit to call himself a Celtic supporter.
Lenny made mistakes, the players made mistakes but come on guys. Brown should be stripped of the captaincy? Garbage.
I'm looking forward to tonights game and the rest of the season. If we go on to win the double and perform well against Juventus most of you guys will be on here showering praise on Lennon, Brown, Samaras, Mulgrew etc.
Wow Tornado you are the dud my friend! First of all check my post on Sunday am. I predicted we would lose because the players wouldnt show up. Secondly, go on the link for the game posted on here on Sunday and look at my post at half time. I said things werent working, Lassad needs to come off and we need to change to a 442. That is not hindsight you fool!!!!! Oh and btw many people that day agreed with me.
Irvine. I am Celtic through and through and I already said that in my post. I am just still hurting about Sunday. Perhaps it was because I knew it would haooen......not hindsight Tornado!!!!!........and I feel let down by the players and the manager. As I said, I aint no Ritchie.
CT...Having a pop at Murdo is not fair..considering 99% of the time murdo bigs up Lenny and the team. He has to learn to take the rough with the smooth
