I can't see RA considering Poyet for the simple reason that Poyet was quite outspoken about how foolish he thought the sacking of his friend RDM was and I'm not sure that RA likes any form of dissent or someone that is very strong-minded (a la Mourhino) and won't do exactly as they are told, when they are told.
You only have to look at the amount of cherry-blossom poisoning that Benitez is currently indulging in to see, that he is determined not to say or do anything provocative or contrary to Club Policy that may prevent him getting the job.
For me Poyet may be perceived by those on high as a possible loose cannon, that would be an unnecessary risk. There is also the question of whether he is experienced enough also.
That would be my worry as well chelseasincesummer1969, Poyet is an outspoken character (his nickname in his playing days was 'The Radio' ), so even if he got the job, a fallout with Roman at some point would be inevitable and possibly terminal.
Altough what Gazza says is right about managers not having their reputation hurt by managing us, I think that still has to proven when we take on a manager, such as Poyet, who is still building his career. Previous managers we've fired hav all had a wealth of experience (and more importantly, trophies) behind them, or in AVBs case, were supposed young masterminds.
Poyet doesn't have that, if we fired him it would be more of a setback than for any of our previous sackings.
Outspoken managers are more fun.

This is quite true for you and me, but for Mr A, malleable individuals who allow themselves to be forced to explain, why we lost at the weekend or why so-and-so didn't play etc. are more fun

Also think a forceful manager would be a good influence on the players.

Mourhino I agree although they parted company because the manager resented the interference, which was considered to be essential. The other two I don't remember being anything other than lackies, when they were with us and have only been outspoken and bitter after they were sacked, when they felt that they had been betrayed and hung out to dry.
Or your my man Boas, just do it

Scolari could be outspoken on occasion before he joined us, but I didn't see that with AVB whose managerial career when he joined us, was still near the beginning and he just seemed grateful for the opportunity and keen to please.
Obviously now his ego hurts and he can't help showing it on occasion.
I mooted this subject last week...with Zola as his 2nd...there's absolutely no telling what Roman will do..so a legend or two might just be the ticket
